#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors #paranormal #romance #Guardians

 Happy Sunday, lovelies!

Thank you for stopping by last week and all the congratulations on my new contract. *hugs and smiles* Also thank you for the feedback on the box with the blurb. I need to test the color scheme but meanwhile, I've made sure to include both versions on my website.

On to today's snippet.

Let's recap: Kaila is in front of Sloth's (a Sin lord) door because she needs to access into his lair to save her sister. She was about to go in when she was interrupted by Seamus, a Guardian. They've known each other for years and he calls her babe even though she hates it. Seamus doesn't want Kaila to enter the Sin's nest and is physically holding her down.

In the last line from last week Kaila sent Seamus to hell. We begin with his reaction.

This snippet has been edited to keep to guidelines.

"Go on and try getting in. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“What?”

“I’m not going to stop you,” Seamus said.

He stepped aside and crossed his muscled arms across his chest. Kaila tore her eyes away and focused her attention back on the door she reached out and placed her palm on the worn wood. Pain shot up her arm and she cried out snatching her hand back. Tears filled her eyes as she cradled her hand. The pain was so  intense that she barely registered Seamus’s arms around her until the touch of his lips on her forehead mingled with sweet words sent her mind reeling.

“Get off,” she yelled.

***Looking for Beta Readers: I'm hoping to finish Kaila and Seamus' story toward the end of September, beginning of October and could use one or two more beta readers. If anyone is interested, let me know! Thank you!

  1. It sounds like she snapped out of her pain quickly and fiercely.

  2. These two are really like oil and water. The back and forth between them could wear me out! But well written...

  3. I guess letting her see for herself was the only way to convince her.

  4. Well, that didn't go as she'd hoped. Sounds like she might need his help after all, though I don't think she'll be quick to admit it. Great snippet!

  5. Oh my, seems Mr. Sloth has more defenses in place than she realized. Great snippet :-)

  6. Looks like he set her up just so he could kiss her owie, while proving that maybe she does need his help. I think she's going to have to come around!

  7. Ooh, he can kiss my boo-boos better too. :D Sorry I missed your exciting news last week, but I went back to read it and I'm so happy for you! Congrats and best of luck!

  8. That's gratitude for you. She could've just said thanks. Not oil and water, how about gas and a match?

  9. Nice of him to try and be tender after not warning her what would happen. Not exactly Mr. Nice Guy, is he? Great snippet!

  11. NOT the best time to get romantic, boyo. I don't blame her for yelling at him. Fun snippet!

  13. Can't say he didn't warn her...guess he figures he deserves the kiss. Not sure she's going to agree. LOL!

  14. That's kind of a rough way to show her that she can't handle it by herself... but I don't think she'd let him help, otherwise.

  15. She wouldn't listen so I guess he had to let her find out for herself. Good job.

  16. Hopefully Seamus doesn't distract her too much. I like her spunk!

  17. Don't you just hate it when someone tells you not to do something, and yet you do it anyway - and they are proved right! Infuriating. Also, painful for Kaila.
