#SexySnippets and #8Sunday Sentences
 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

He threaded his fingers through her soft red locks, moaning as she moved against him, teasing his ever growing erection. He mimicked sex with his tongue and fumbled with his clothes, eager to push inside of her, but she pulled back and stood. He growled low in his throat and fell back as she firmly pushed him onto the grass. Simon blinked, trying to see something, but the sky was dark, the moon no longer offering its comforting glow. Clouds that threatened rain, lightening, and destruction danced above him, but he couldn’t care less as his trousers slid to the floor and she grasped his member. He lifted his hips, eager for more of her caresses, eager to feel her mouth on him.
 “Needy bear.” The voice was not Maggie’s. It was strange, screechy, desperate, but he didn’t care for he too was desperate.

#Friday Happy Author Hour! Share a drink with your favorite #Authors! #HappyHour #writing Today with Stephanie Berget @stephanieberget

Whether you're an author or not, you've heard it before: All authors drink.

But what do they drink?
It's that time of the week again! You know it baby!Who's up for a delectable concoction brought by Stephanie Berget? I'm raising my hand and I know you are too! So read on to discover this yummy Hot Pink drink and a yummy cowboy to boot!
Stephanie Berget and Hot Pink Barbie
A few years ago one of our authors needed a fancy drink for her heroine to order, but she couldn't figure out what to use. Since then, every year at retreat, one of us brings a drink for the others to taste. We call it research. This was last year's delectable concoction. But drink with care. They are like drinking soda.
  • 1 oz Malibu Coconut Rum
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz Cranberry juice
  • 1 oz Orange juice
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • Lime
(When I say ounces, you can also just do parts and make sure they are all equal parts).
Mix together and pour over ice. Add lime slice if you want.

About Stephanie

Stephanie Berget was born loving horses and found her way to rodeo when she married her Bronc Rider. She and her husband traveled throughout the Northwest while she ran barrels and her cowboy rode bucking horses. She started writing to put a realistic view of rodeo and ranching into western romance. Stephanie and her husband live on a farm located along the Oregon/Idaho border, where they raise hay, horses and cattle, with the help of Dizzy Dottie, the Border Collie, and two Munchkin cats, Magic and Martin.

Sean O’Connell’s life is perfect, or it was until his partying lifestyle affected his bull riding. Now he’s ended the season too broke to leave the Northwest for the warm southern rodeos. When a wild night with his buddies gets out of hand, he wakes up naked, staring into the angry eyes of a strange woman. His infallible O’Connell charm gets him nowhere with the dark-haired beauty. It’s obvious she’s not his usual good-time girl, so why can’t he forget her?

Bar-manager Catherine Silvera finds a waterlogged, unconscious cowboy freezing to death in front of the Sugarwater Bar. She saves his life--then runs faster than a jackrabbit with a coyote on its tail.  Any man who makes his living rodeoing is bad news, especially if he thinks partying is part of the competition. He’s everything she doesn’t want in a man, so why can’t she shake her attraction to the rugged cowboy?

#WedsBrief #FlashFiction : Hand of Fate 3 #fantasy

Greetings lovelies!

Well, I know I said I'd keep flashes to 2-3 chapters max, but I'm kind of hooked on this one, so I´m breaking my own rules and continuing this story for the time being. Last week, it all ended with this line: “Did Salec not tell you to enter and keep your eyes to the floor, Kamaira?”

(You can read the full chapter here)

The prompt I've used today was: "Kneel before me and..."

Hand of Fate: 3
Every cell in her body softened at the sound of his voice. She´d never heard anything like it. Deep like the roar of a Virku,  the golden yellow wild cat that roamed their lands and killed their babes. Yet, also mellow like the grey fur of the fat rodents that hid in the bushes waiting for nightfall to steal their food.
"Kneel before me and keep your eyes to the floor, Kamaira."

Though there was no threat or anger in his softly spoken words, she hurried to obey.

"Lest, you prefer to do other things for me."

The hairs on her arms stood on end, his sexual innuendo clear as the light of day. Her gaze darted toward his crotch. The bulge in his firm fitting trousers was unmistakable. She swallowed.

"Salivating already, Kamaira?" He chuckled darkly. She bit down on her lip, touched her forehead to the ground and closed her eye, willing the desire to evaporate. If only she could shut her ears. She heard the rustle of his clothes as he moved. His footsteps, barely audible against the carpet as he approached her. A shiver racked her body. Shame burned her cheeks. She'd heard of the power the pointy eared lords wielded, but she'd never expected this. She'd never imagined that his voice and only his voice could cause her body to revolt against her mind. She'd never contemplated the idea that his presence could push her into submission.

No Fear, no tears, Mayra. No fear. No tears. She repeated the mantra in her head as his shadow fell over her from behind. Don't let them see that you are affected. Don't let them win. She tasted blood in her mouth as gentle fingers traced the column of her spine.

"So delicate."

Juices coated the inside of her thighs. No fear. No fear. Gods, if only this simple touch could do this to her, how was she to survive? She'd always believed they had an option. She thought that they could fight back. That they could rebel against them in some way. She was no longer certain that was possible.

"What is your name, Kamaira?" he whispered against her ear, his warm breath sending erotic tingles across every pore in her body. She screwed her eyes shut. She would fight. She'd promised Miope and her mother that she would fight.

The order was unmistakable but in the crudely spoken word so was her position. To him, she was nothing more than a slave. The Uraima and their Lords, the Ilaildar, only wanted the Kamaira for one thing: as slaves. In the field or in their beds, the location was indifferent as long as they obeyed.

"Her name is Mayra, my Lord."

She recognized the voice of the Uraima that had handpicked her. She'd failed to hear him enter.  “Fear not, little one, I will keep you alive.” The words he'd whispered earlier to her came crashing back bringing tears to her eyes. Alive? How? How was he going to keep her from going mad? Could she even trust him?

#TNTConfidential Author Spotlight on L.M. Brown ( @LMBrownAuthor ) and Forbidden Waters (Mermen & Magic) #mmromance

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! Time really flies by when you're having fun and I can hardly believe we're close to the end of the month, but as always, I've got some fabulous authors and books you should know about. For instance, today's spotlight shines on mermen and author L.M. Brown's novel Forbidden Waters.

To save his clan from ever-increasing shark attacks, merman Kyle seeks sanctuary for his people in the sunken city of Atlantis, even though he knows that as a homosexual merman, he will be sacrificing his own chance for love. Love finds him anyway in the form of Prince Finn, the rebellious young heir to the Atlantean throne.

When their relationship is discovered, Kyle is the one to pay the price. Banished from the oceans, he seeks shelter in England and finds a new love with human, Jake Seabrook.

For Jake, Kyle is the chance to move on from the crush he has on his straight best friend. The strange man he found naked on the beach seems to fit into his life with ease.  If only Kyle weren’t keeping secrets from him, Jake could see them having a future together.

Things are not what they seem for either of the men and when Kyle discovers the truth about Finn, he knows he must return to Atlantis.

Three men, a tangled relationship, and one chance for happiness—if they can trust enough to take it.

Different Incarnations

Sometimes a story just doesn't want to be what I think it should be.  Forbidden Waters is one of those stories.

Believe it or not, this all male ménage actually started off as a young adult story and was my very first attempt at NaNoWriMo some years ago.  I had the entire story all plotted out and wrote over 50,000 words of it that hectic November.  Those words are now all gone.

For the next few years I kept coming back to the story and finding it was just not saying what I wanted it to.

The romance element of the story was not in the first draft of this one at all.  It was a young adult adventure story and there wasn't so much as a kiss between any of the characters.

I went over the story again and again and then realised one of the secondary characters was speaking to me more than the two main characters.  That's when I realised this story needed a complete do-over.

One of the main characters, Alex, ended up playing a much smaller role in the story and the chatty secondary character took over the story, in a way I never intended him to.

At the point I started to re-write the story as a romance I intended it to be a male/male story.  Well, as you can see, that went up the proverbial spout as well.  Something that tends to happen when a character falls for another who I didn't intend for him to get involved with.

Kyle, the character in question, who was initially only a very minor secondary character in that old young adult story, got greedy and fell in love with both Prince Finn and Jake Seabrook.

And so I found myself with another all male ménage in the works.  This tends to happen to me rather a lot.  The Heavenly Sins trilogy began as a short story about an angel and a demon fighting over the same mortal man and now Forbidden Waters has gone in the same threesome direction.

Not all of my Mermen & Magic stories are MMM ones, books two three and four are plain old MM, though book five is another MMM and the jury is definitely out on the sixth.  I want to say it is a ménage, but I have a feeling one of those boys isn't prone to sharing.

I have learned over the last few years that my characters do what they please and I really should just let them.

~~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~~
Kyle passed Calder his trident back and once he was alone, he started to test the weapons for weight, length and sharpness. He had just picked up his fifth trident when he heard a movement behind him. He spun round on reflex and nearly speared the young prince through the chest.
“That’s some weapon you have there,” the prince said with a grin, as he pushed the trident aside carelessly. Kyle hoped the prince realised how lucky he was the prongs on this particular weapon were blunt. “You insulted me when you left the palace.”
Kyle cringed. “I apologise, Your Highness. This is all very new to me.”
“My name’s Finn.”
Kyle felt a little ignorant at not knowing the name of the prince and heir of Atlantis already. He wondered if he was in trouble for his not entirely unintentional insult.
“You never answered my question, either,” Finn said.
“You didn’t ask me a question.”
Finn rolled his eyes. “Fine, you never clarified just how many of those mer-babies are yours—or whether my guess was right.”
Kyle thought about lying and repeating King Nereus’ reason for not knowing the answer, but he was by nature an honest merman and he decided the truth was probably the best option. If he chose to stay in Atlantis, he would no doubt be caught in the lie anyway. “You guessed correctly,” he admitted.
Finn’s grin widened. “And how many of those pretty mermaids you’ve brought with you to Atlantis have you taken?”
“I don’t see how that’s any of your business.” Prince or not, Kyle didn’t want to answer his impertinent question.
Finn moved forward and ran a finger down the centre of Kyle’s chest. “Would you like me to guess how many?”
“Not really.”
Finn learned close, as though he might whisper in his ear, even though they spoke telepathically. “None.”
“Wrong,” Kyle replied with a grin of his own.
“One then,” Finn amended, “before you realised your preference for the males of our species.”
Kyle kept his expression blank as Finn summed up his entire sexual experience with mermaids in one eerily accurate sentence.
“I’m right, aren’t I?” Finn stroked his hand over Kyle’s smooth chest. Most mermen didn’t develop excessive body hair. Although there were a few exceptions, Kyle was with the majority in being smooth skinned. “How many mermen have you taken as a lover?”
The prince was certainly persistent in his questioning. Kyle pushed his hand away irritably. “What do you care if I’ve had relations with a hundred mermen?”
Finn didn’t take a hint and put his hand back where it had been a moment before. “Have you known a hundred?”
Kyle could tell he wasn’t going to get away with evasive answers, so he decided to stick to the truth in the hope Finn would be satisfied and disappear back to his palace before Calder or one of the trainees came in and saw them.
“I’ve taken just one merman as a lover.”
“Is he here in Atlantis?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“I’m curious about my competition.” Finn smiled up at him through his flyaway hair. “Is he here?”
“No. He chose to find a new clan where he could love who he wants without censure.”
“Why didn’t you go with him?” Finn appeared genuinely curious.
“I have a duty to my clan to see them safe. That comes before my own selfish desires.”
Finn finally removed his hand from Kyle’s chest and swam back a couple of feet. “There are options if you still desire the touch of a merman here in Atlantis,” Finn said. “If you know where to look.”
