#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors: NANOWRIMO WIP 'Lone Wolf'

Hello and welcome! It's always a great pleasure to have you guys here and I thank you again for stopping by and commenting.

I finished Nanowrimo on Thursday and as such I thought that one of the best ways to celebrate is to share a snippet from the project I've been working on, momentarily titled 'Lone Wolf'.

I'm going to jump write in and show you the part when Emily Bunsbury first lays eyes on the hero, William Dalton. Please keep in mind that this is all unedited. Thank you. *smiles*

#SexySnippets and #8Sunday Sentences

Her heart beat erratically against her chest and her hands felt clammy at the sight of the stranger. The reaction caught her by surprise, for never in her almost eight and twenty years had she responded to anyone in such a way. Perhaps, she mused, as she observed him, her reaction was due to him being her savior for he was by no means the most handsome man she had ever set eyes on.

William Dalton's features had no finesse. The lines of his face were angular and rough. His lips were too wide, his nose too narrow. Then there was the matter of his eyes. Dark and unreadable, they had an air about them that spoke of a man with little joy in his life.

I finished #NANOWRIMO!

Greetings my darlings,

I am thrilled to announce that last Thursday at around 2:30 something AM, I reached the most desirable word count in the world during this month: 50.000 K.

Incredible as it sounds, though I can't record it on the website yet , I am done with Nanowrimo! *dances and throws confetti*

However, the story, momentarily titled "Lone Wolf" still has a bit more to go before it is fully completed. Furthermore, when I write for Nanowrimo, I do just that: I write. Full steam ahead, without pause, almost carelessly, so now, that the story is done comes the hardest part: Editing it so that it is readable.

*gulp*

Still, I look forward to getting William and Emily out there and showcasing them to you. I'll be sharing snippets and more as I go and if you're interested you can find an example on  Mid-Week Tease or tomorrow's #WeekendWritingWarriors / #SexySnippets.

XOXO,
Elyzabeth

Mid Week Tease: #Nanowrimo #MWTease Another Dance

Hello  lovelies! Today, besides my Wednesday Brief which you can read in a little while, I'm participating in the Mid-Week Tease! The following excerpt is from my #Nanowrimo project, a regency romance. At the moment I’m at 45.000 words so only a little more and I will reach the desired 50k word count! Wohoo!

In this unedited scene, Emily is trying to give William the slip after having danced with him once.

Enjoy and please visit the rest of the teasers.

“That was only one dance, Ms. Bunsbury. You promised me two.”

“Surely, you wouldn’t want to waste your good moments dancing another tune with me, Mr. Dalton.”

Her iron facade slipped as William's thick eyebrows rose in a comical manner.

“Ah, but she does smile and a beautiful smile it is too.”

William leaned closer, his breath almost fanning over her ear. Heat filled her cheeks at his intimate proximity. His presence overwhelmed her. She had the urge to smile again, wider, broader, to laugh. With him. The feeling was as unexpected as the current that seemed to traverse her body every time he touched her.  Emily stumbled backwards putting some distance between them.

“I am sure other women would enjoy dancing with you much more than I have. Say, why not ask my cousin, Elisa. I believe she has tired of Brunswick.”

Disengaging herself from his penetrating stare, she took a step toward her cousin. His hard body stepped in front of her, making her gasp. Emily's thoughts scattered like a leaf in the wind as the heat of his body reached her. His intense dark gaze searched her face, creating a new bout of butterflies to flutter deep in her belly. She needed to get away from him.

“Ms. Bunsbury you will not give me the slip as you’ve previously managed to do.”

Emily sighed, managing a step away from him.

“Mr. Dalton I appreciate your attention but I honestly do not wish to dance with you again. Please, I know I promised you two but—“

Her words got stuck in her throat as William grasped her elbow. His eyes gleamed with a sinister glow, matching the devilish grin on his lips.

“You may think yourself fast as a rabbit or cunning like a fox, Ms. Bunsbury, but I am a hunter and catching prey is my favorite sport.”

On your marks, get set...NANOWRIMO!

It's here! It's started! November 1st is the date many authors have been waiting for (or is that dreading?). Nanowrimo has oficially kicked off and a lot of writers are leaving everything aside to reach that 50.000 word count- myself included.

I've been participating in Nanowrimo for the past five years. My first attempt was an untitled story for which I even wrote a synopsis and the beginning of a blurb:

What if your imagination became a reality?
Devinia is trapped between two races that will do anything to have her save their world.

For some reason, at that moment in time, I didn't find the story good enough and I never edited it or searched for a publishing house that could adopt it. *shrug* Maybe I will go back to it someday.

My second Nanowrimo participation was also a winner. This time, in more ways than one. Nanowrimo 2009 brought to life the story of Angelica and Alexander. You might have heard of this couple before because they are the lead characters of my first full length published novel A Decade of Longing.

2010 was the first year in which I did not Nanowrimo. Life got complicated and it was impossible for me to write a 50.000 word story in a month.

2011 I tried. I meant to write a medieval erotic romance, but the project never made it past the 5000 word mark.

Last year, I wrote the story of a dragon- demon shifter... sound familiar? A Dragon's Heart, A Demon's Blood was born from last year's Nanowrimo. After the month was up I expanded the story into a whopping 62000 something words, edited and sent it to Evernight Publishing.

And now, 2013 is upon us. This year I've actually done most of my research before launching into Nanowrimo. I also have a pretty clear outline of the way I want the story to go. Things will change, of course, but I'm hopping that at least, I'll be able to reach that elusive 50,000 word count and get William and Emily's story out there. *fingers crossed*

Good luck to everyone!

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello lovelies!

How have you all been? At the moment of writing this I'm 40000 words into my Nanowrimo! Wohoo! I think this is the first time I've written so many words in such a short space of time. Of course, the story is going to need a lot of editing afterwards, but I'm getting the main plot out there without spending three hours worrying if that word fit right for that spot. That will come later. groan.

Anyhow, since Nano is been taking most of my time, here are 6 sentences from it. In this piece, Adrian is watching the heroine, Victoria, from a distance. Please, remember that it hasn't been edited.

Have a great day! And click here to visit the rest of the Sixers.

He kept his eyes trained on Victoria, aware that it was making her uneasy and aware that it was arousing her. His smile bloomed. A virgin ready to be tasted, sampled, broken into. The demon in him almost roared with glee. He used to be frightened when it did that, when it went into that hungry drive, that desperate need for flesh, both female and male. At first, Dragoon supplied him with plenty of willing bodies, but he also taught him control.

Wednesday Brief: Your hump day dose of flash fiction

Hello everyone!

Happy hump day! There is no Wednesday Flash from me today. Initially, I had thought about including today's prompts into my Nanowrimo (as a matter a fact, I did manage it). However, after some thought I decided it wasn't really fair. I felt that the post would have been part of a much bigger story and not a flash per-se.

The thing about this Nanowrimo WIP is that it started out as a Wednesday Brief! You can reread what I had written then and get reacquainted with the characters by clicking here and here.
Or simply head on to this week's Brief's by cllicking on the links below.

Have a great day!

Six Sentence Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone! My Six Sentences of today belong to my Nanowrimo project. Unfortunately, life has been repeatedly getting in the way lately and I don't think I'll finish my novel in time. However, I do intend to finish this story at some point ;-)

As always, thank you for stopping by and commenting (you make my day a whole lot brighter!) and don't forget to visit those other great authors out there.

“Tell me, Camilia, if you are not a virgin why do you cower away from me every time I get near you? Why does fear creep into your eyes every time my body nudges yours?”

“I—“

“Tell me.”

“You are imagining things. I feel no fear,” she replied, staring at him defiantly even though adrenaline rushed through her body and turned to liquid heat between her legs.
