Today I'm still sharing from Alpha Protectors 4. Last week Prudence was becoming distracted while performing a spell which united two dimensions. I've jumped ahead in today's snippet to when Killian comes to the rescue because tbh the stuff in between is still unstable. What happens in between seems very cliche so I need to rethink it. But anyhow, here's the battle scene between Killian and a different kind of demon...

it’s a mmamonár”
“It
can be a Sin himself. No one touches what’s mine.”
She watched in horror as the demon spun around talons
extended. Killian jumped back. He spread his leg into a warrior stance and
swung his hammer. The beast was fast,
skidding to the left, it scratched Killian’s arm. With a growl, he veered and
lunged, hitting him squarely in the face. The demon shrieked and took a step
back. Pru stared in horror.

Exciting fight scene! I hope that scratch doesn't have poison in it or anything. One never knows with demons. Great snippet!

ReplyDeleteLOVE his confidence!! A suggestion: to avoid my momentary confusion of who 'him' was, in the line starting 'With a growl..." you might change the pronoun for the demon from 'him' to 'it' i.e. "hitting 'it' squarely in the face." so the fantastic action pace isn't broken.
