Happy Sunday, everyone!
I must attend a work meeting today, but I'll pop by everyone's blog throughout the week.
As for my own snippet, today I'm still sharing from Alpha Protectors 4. I've moved a little further ahead from last week.
If you have not read the previous books, Inferum are the minions of the Sins. They are creatures which enter a human being's body and whisper evil things. When they're not inhabiting a body they're all around us, lurking, waiting for their next victim.

There's currently a BookSweeps Giveaway in which you can win a copy of Reine's Salvation (book 1 of Alpha Protectors) and learn more about these deadly creatures ;-)
Enjoy! XoXo,
Ely

Prudence
let go of all her emotions focusing on the ball of energy within her.
Deeper and deeper she went, searching for the light which she knew would bring
forth the magic necessary to lure the demons out of the human’s body. Their
voices united becoming a single echo and warmth traveled through her limbs.
She lost contact with her colleagues and sparks flew out of her fingers. The
energy in the room shifted making the hairs on the back of her neck stand.
Someone said something though she could not make out the words.
“Demonae
show yourself.”
The
room became dark, then slowly, a red light spread throughout, a ball of energy
sizzling above their heads and among the shadows, inferum crawled out of their
human hosts. They were little more than the size of a pencil, but as they
crawled forth they grew in statute.
“Vince
Malum,” she yelled.
“Charge,”
Killian shouted.

I'm going to hazard a guess that 'Vince Malum' isn't a guy's name, but the Latin for conquer evil or some such?
ReplyDeleteWow, that was intense! I hope they're fully prepared for these demonae.
ReplyDeleteSpooky and so very well done! I could visualize the scene, no problem. Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie: If I was faced with a bunch of demons, I'd be out of that room before you could blink. ;)
ReplyDeleteOutstanding, Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteSmall things are often the most deadly. Think of how many people die due to the presence of bacteria and viruses.
ReplyDeleteI felt some shades of Constantine when reading this. This is a positive thing. I think Constantine is a great story!
Wow. So intense. Good job.
