I'm finally on holiday! *dances* August was another super busy work month so I've hardly been blogging, but I have been writing. Woot! I'm hoping to get some more writing done this month. Currently, I'm working on a Christmas Realm 2 and while I was prepping to get to it, I reread The Beauty of Forever, A Christmas Realm 1. I'm still soooooo in love with that story and its characters, so today, I'm having a throwback Sunday and sharing a snippet from it.
The moment Christopher first met Samantha...
Enjoy!

“Quite all right, quite all right, we can talk now.” Santa said,
patting him on the arm in a fatherly fashion. “In any case, my reason
for calling you stands at my side. Christopher Beaufort, I’d like to
introduce you to Miss Samantha Kraus.”

He fixed his gaze on her again, feasting on her features: the
wide, green eyes, the color of emeralds, framed by dark lashes; the
freckles on the bridge of her nose; the pouty mouth, painted with a
dash of red. He roved lower. The fitted green dress accentuated her
curves. Hunger of an entirely different kind rushed through him, a
bolt of desire traveling straight to his groin.
“Hello, Samantha.”

The Beauty of Forever (A Christmas Realm Tale I)
Once dead, always dead.
Christopher Beaufort works in what could easily be the most cheerful place on earth, Santa’s Christmas Realm, but as a vampire, he is nothing more than a shadow among the living.
Worn out by the demands of his job as Chief Toy Officer, Santa assigns a human woman to help him, Samantha Kraus. Tantalized by the fiery red-head, Christopher makes it his business to seduce her, but as he does, something within him begins to stir.
Life is a gift in which every moment counts.
When Samantha Kraus accepted the job of assistant manager at Santa’s, she expected elves, fairies and maybe some shifters, but definitely not vampires. Least of all did she imagine her boss would be one of them or that she’d be attracted to him.
Though she tries to remain professional, Samantha finds herself falling for Christopher. But, can a vampire’s heart ever beat again?

ReplyDeleteWhat an intriguing premise for a story. I have to admit vampires aren't my favourite themes for a story, but this snippet makes me want to read the whole book!
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday!
DeleteBut how do you really feel about her, Christopher? I don't think they're going to get much work done.
ReplyDeleteSanta never gave me a present like Samantha. :-(
