Hot, hot, hotness!
Currently the temperature in Madrid is around 40º Celsius. The logical thing to do considering this awful heat is either to take a cold shower, have an ice cream or lie in front of a fan (or air conditioner, if you have one), but nooooooo my friends, instead I get hooked on True Blood again.
It is widely known that vampires give off no heat, but that is not the case with the True Blood cast. To the contrary, I believe those vamps are rising temperatures world wide.
There's a whole bunch of male characters to chose from, werewolves, shifters, or plain old humans...but the vampires are something special.
I haven't really decided whether I'm Team Bill or Team Eric yet, but I can't seem to get Eric's, aka actor Alexander Skarsgard's perfectly shaped buttocks off my mind... nor those blue-green eyes, that sweet and mischievous smile, those muscles...yummy... I think I'm salivating. LOL

I better try and get some sleep. Sweet dreams ;-)

Spain: World Champion
I'm not much of a soccer fan, but last night I watched the World Cup Championship final, and it was worth it. Spain won! And Madrid has gone wild, and I have discovered a really cute player: Xabi Alonso. LOL.
Have a nice day! Hope no one is melting from the heat like I am >< (we're almost at 40º celsius).

Looking for a home...
Well, the manuscript is completed. The synopsis is done. Everything seems to be in order...Now, to find it all a good home.
It's a tough choice... and this "no multiple submissions" condition that most publishers have is a tid bit annoying, since you don't hear from them at least until a a month has passed by, wasting precious time.
Oh well...that's the way the cookie crumbles. Let's do a little research!

and now...the synopsis
I just finished editing my last novel: Angelica and Alexander (hummm, maybe I should switch the title)...and now comes what for me is the hardest part: writing the synopsis.
Ugh...
Ugh...

Still alive...
Greetings everyone!
I'm still around, it's just that I'm busy with university work. The school year is coming to an end, projects have to be turned in, exams are taking place... etc. It's let's see how much stress a human being can cope with- time!
Anyhow, my creative side is cruel and it decides to play with me when I don't have time to give it wings. By nature, I'm a very musical person (going around without my mp3 is as if they'd cut out one of my limbs. I drive my sister insane by my a cappella singing around the house), therefore, it's not the first time that music helps inspire my writing. However, lately 2 out of 3 songs I hear brings an image to my mind and opens up a world of possibilities for a future story. It's unnerving because I simply can't stop and explore the prospect like I'd like to.
I'm resisting the urge to write, but that doesn't mean I can't edit and do a little something here and there (you'll see what I mean next week, hehehe).
Anyways, speaking of music, this song has just been beckoning me to go and give pure fantasy writing another try...
maybe I will... once I finish my exams. We'll see...
Question is, How do you feel about music? Is it part of who you are? of your day to day? Does it inspire you?

Lost in a dream...
The three girls fell asleep together. They were trapped and their only option was to obey blindly and hope that they didn't get converted into one of the screaming statues. Horrendous creatures made out of flesh and stone. They would be carved up to look like a grotesque gigantic human being. They were not real statues, for they could see and move. They couldn't speak for they had no mouths. However, if you got real close or looked into their eyes, you could see the human bodies inside, screaming over and over again in agony.
One of the girls moaned in her sleep. Her eyelids fluttered as she dreamed. She had gone to bed holding on to a single thread of hope. It was materializing in her dreams just now. He stood above her and swooped her into his arms. She looked up at him with a questioning look. He replied by crushing his lips against hers. She smiled in her sleep. He would come, she was certain.
It's not the first time that I dream of something and wake up with the urge to make a great story out of it. Most of the time though, I give up on the idea. Usually it's because in waking-life, I have already forgotten half the dream or at least an element that was crucial in the dream escapes me in real life. Other times, because the whole thing just makes me nostalgic, I can't bare to relive the dream by writing it down.
Nonetheless, there are times when I'm able to blend the elements of the dream into my imagination and make up something which leaves me satisfied. Unfortunately, those times are rare.
Do you ever write about your dreams? Are you ever inspired by them? Do you think that there's a meaning behind a dream? Or is it just a playful figment of your imagination?
By the way, this upcoming Thursday, April 8th, be on the lookout for my latest erotic short story at The Long and the Short of it!

The truth is revealed...
It's time to reveal my truths concerning my last post... drum roll, please... My truth was number 3: I'm bilingual in English and Spanish. I've been living in Spain since I was 6 years old, but I also attended an American School, and am American myself, so I speak both languages fluently.
As for my lies, well, my favorite color is black, I love chocolate, I don't really like techno-music, I am a woman, I absolutely despise cockroaches and I love dogs.
Simple, huh?
Speaking of dogs, time to take mine for a walk.

Back with an Award!
I can't believe I've been absent from blogging for more than a month. In my defense, I had several good reasons: I've had exams, then I went to Washington DC to surprise my best friend for her birthday and finally, I've been trying to get up to date on all the stuff I've missed at class.
Nonetheless, I'm back! And with the pleasant surprise of receiving an award-game from Kat at Will Write for Food. Thanks Kat you made my day! =D
So here's the thing:
1: Thank the person who gave you the award and link to them.
4: Nominate six creative writers and post links to them.
5: Let your nominees know that they have been nominated.
And now a few lies and one truth:
1. My least favorite color is black.
2. I hate chocolate.
3. I'm bilingual in English-Spanish.
4. I love techno music.
5. I'm a man
6. I love cockroaches
7. I hate dogs
So which one do you think is the lie??
The great thing about this award is that you get to discover knew blogs. I'm afraid I don't know many blogs (yet), so I'm sticking with 5 nominees instead of 6. (I hope I don't get cursed for skipping the rules :P)
1. April Vine at April Vine:Promiscuous Writer? Er...that'd be me!
2. Carrie at Red Quills
3. Megan Slayer at Too Hot to handle
4. Wendi Swaduk at Romance to make your heart race
5. Lynda at Writing and the Ridiculous
Have a nice day everyone!

InkHeart
Last night I watched the film, Inkheart, based on the book by Cornelia Funke.
It was a really nice watch, however what really got to me was when Fenoglio, the author of the book in the novel, appears and tells Meggie that writing is a solitary thing because many times you wish to be part of the story you are writing.
This is true for me, more than once I have wished to be part of the story I am conceiving. How about you? Would you like to be inside your novel?
