What is love?

According to the word love has various meanings. Some of them are:

1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
3. sexual passion or desire.
4. a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart.
10. strong predilection, enthusiasm, or liking for anything: her love of books.

Of course there is also love between friends, family, brothers, sisters... But, let us talk about love between two people...romantic love...What is love? Can it be described? Can it be broken down into a few words in a dictionary? or turned into a mathematical formula?
What is that crazy feeling that has made countless people lose their heads? What is that emotion that has been sung and written about throughout the ages?

Is it sharing common interests with someone? sexual tension? Not caring about someone's imperfections? Learning to compromise? A mixture of comprehension and lust?

What are your thoughts? What is love to you?

  1. I think there are lots of types of love. There's the love you have for your brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers (and sometimes they change, and it's hard for you to love them but you do anyway.) There's the love of friends who devote themselves to one another through thick and thin. And then there's the passionate, romantic love that makes you crazy and spins your world upside-down.

I adore comments! Don't be shy and tell me your thoughts.
