#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors #paranormal

Happy Sunday, guys!

Today is going to be a busy day for me as I'm taking my dog to a dog show to showcase our agility training skills. Wish us luck!

As for the snippet, I'm continuing where I left off from last week with Under the love of Darkness. Kaila was catching her breath and remembering her sister... but time is up.
Edits have taken place to keep to WeWriWa guidelines.

Kaila’s eyes snapped open at the sound of an unpleasant gurgle. Damn minions. They were back. Her goal was at the other side of this wall, all she needed to do was get rid of the last of the gatekeepers and she’d be there. Fear slithered down her back as she heard the loud clap of its webbed feet against the flagstone. She’d always thought that those that felt no fear were folly. Without fear there was no sense of preservation. Fear kept you on your toes. She raised her knife and stepped out of the shadows, sinking the weapon deep into the minion’s gut. The creature’s eyes widened in surprise, its mouth forming an almost perfect circle.

  1. Bye bye, minion. I gather this wasn't one of the cute yellow creatures from the cartoon.

  2. It's amazing the amount of adrenaline fear raises. The creature sure got it good! Nice snippet, Elizabeth! Good luck at the show!

  6. I like a woman who can stand up for herself, so long as she doesn't have the wrath of the minions down on her. Hope you enjoyed the dog show.

  7. "Fear slithered down her back." Wonderful visual there, and she goes on despite this sensation. Minions had better watch the hell out. She means business. Great snippet!

  8. Way to go, woman. Protect yourself.
Speaking of Dogs, I'm writing a book about therapy and rescue dogs and here you are with a trained pooch. If you want your pooch in my book published by Vanilla Heart, send me a story of how you got the dog, trained her or him and how much he means to you. I need it right away. Thanks, Charmaine

  10. I agree with Jenna, your use of 'slithered' was sublime. And a very valid sentiment, too. No-fear is not bravery.
