Pretty Boy3

Josh hit the snooze button on his alarm. Five more minutes.

"Just five more minutes," he pleaded to no one in particular. He kept his eyes shut hoping that the dream would return. He'd been dreaming with Jay, of course, and it had been glorious. It had been different from the time they'd been together. In the dream, Jay actually cared for him. Unlike reality. He sighed. If only he could continue dreaming. He'd been about to kiss Jay to feel his soft lips against his, to taste him one more time. His mouth watered and he swallowed hard. It would not happen. He had to learn to live with this constant dissatisfaction. Yet, with every passing day it felt more like pain and less like simple addiction.

He knew why and he had triggered it. It had been accidental. He hadn't done it on purpose like Jay suspected. No, Josh had been with other men and he'd never felt the need to claim his stake. Things changed with Jay. Perhaps, it was because Jay was such a flirt that he felt that he had to do it to show that they belonged together. Or perhaps, it was the fact that their affair was a secret. No one could know that they were together, that was against company policy and against what friends and family thought about them.

Josh turned to the side. He had been out since he was a young boy, but Jay, Jay was still fighting it. According to him, his parents and siblings knew, and so did some of his friends, but he didn't think anyone else should know. Josh agreed, up to a point. Your sexuality was no one's business, but what was wrong with expressing your love to another man? No, Jay didn't see it like him. For Jay their dates, their nights spent together, their kisses, their lazy Sunday nights on the couch, meant nothing.

The alarm clock went off again indicating that his five minutes were up. Josh turned off and rolled out of bed. He shuffled toward the bathroom and turned on the shower. Patiently, he waited for the water to warm. The space was tiny, yet he and Jay had managed to fit in together. Josh stepped into the warm spray and closed his eyes. Bliss. It didn't last. The memory of Jay's kisses on his neck triggered his cock and reminded him that the other man was not there and would never be there. He was alone. Jay would never come around. He would rather suffer in silence than admit that these feelings were bound to drive them both crazy.

Josh selected his shampoo and poured some onto the palm of his hand. The last shower he'd taken with Jay, he'd washed the other man's silky blonde locks. He scrubbed and rinsed quickly. Then he lathered his body with soap, trying to forget the touch of the other man on his flesh. How long would they be able to stand being apart? He'd never heard any stories of mates that weren't together. He could ask his parents, but truth was, he was afraid of the answer.

Happy Sunday, guys!

Thanks for all the input regarding last week's snippet. It really helps. *smile*

Today, I'm continuing with the story and we're going to find out a little more about Kaila and why she's there.

As a psychologist on Earth she’d had to deal with Sloth’s victims countless times. Some were stronger and were able to rid themselves of his influence, but none ever returned the same. Once Sloth touched you… She wrapped her arms around herself, her thoughts immediately turning to her sister Melisa. She’d never forgive herself for missing it and ignoring his influence on her. She’d been so busy with others she’d failed to see what was occurring in front of her own nose. Kaila gritted her teeth. It’d be okay. That was why she was here. Today she was going to go in there and pull her sister out of Sloth’s clutches whatever the cost.

Happy Wednesday!

"It's happening again."

Josh stopped short. The simple sound of his voice made goosebumps spread all over his arms. His heart began an excited pitter-patter as he heard his approaching footsteps. Perhaps, he should continue moving, make his way back into the office, away from the empty hallway where he could be alone with Jay. He couldn't be alone with Jay. It brought out to many things in him.

"Josh, did you hear me?"

Jay grabbed his arm. He was not gentle. His fingers dug into Josh’s arms, the anger the other man felt effortlesly flowing into him. Josh sighed.

"It's happening again," Jay whispered.

Yet, even if Jay was angry at him, he also felt the pinpricks of desire running through both their veins. Like him, Jay also wanted more. Josh had no doubt about that. However, the kind of more they both wanted was different. Josh wanted commitment, love, affection. Jay, well, Jay, wanted sexuality, pleasure, decadence.

“You have to make it stop, Josh.”

Josh swallowed hard. Jay's tone had softened as had the blue in his eyes. The anger was quickly fading, replaced in its stead by confusion. Josh knew perfectly how he felt. He had been confused since the moment the incident had happened, but he had also accepted it quicker.

“Josh.” There was almost a tone of pleasing in Jay’s tone.

"I can't control it," Josh said.

"I can't keep living like this," Jay whispered. "I dreamed about you last night." He ran his fingers through his hair. "And the night before and the night before that, and, you get where I'm going with this, right?" Jay took a step backwards.

The intensity in his gaze was making Josh´s knees weak. Yes, he knew exactly what was happening, after all, he was also suffering. However, for him, it was a thousand times worse.

“I understand,” Josh finally said, “but I can´t help you.”

“You started this,” Jay replied. “You were the one that, that—“ he stuttered into silence, clearly unable to communicate what had happened between them.
Josh’s gut twisted painfully. The other man always managed to say the most hurtful things, even if he wasn’t aware of doing so.

“I have to get back to work,” Josh said.

“You can’t leave me like this. You can’t—“

Jay grabbed him again. He pulled on Josh’s arm, forcing him to turn around and face him.

“There’s nothing I can do.” Josh tried to keep eye contact with Jay but embarassament and sadness forced him to look down.

“You started it, undo it.”

“It’s impossible,” Josh declared. “I’ve told you the options, that’s all I’ve got.”

“That’s not enough.” Jay’s gaze searched his face. “It’s not enough. Our lives would never be the same. I can’t do it, Josh.”

“No, they wouldn't,” he agreed. “I understand.” Josh untangled himself from the other man’s hold and began to walk away. He waited for Jay to beg him to return so they could speak some more, but the other man remained silent. No, he thought, I don’t understand for even if I could undo what was done, our lives could never return to the way they were. At least, not mine.

#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors #paranormal

Happy Sunday, guys!

Thank you for the encouragement and the good luck wishes regarding my story revisions. *hugs everyone*

And of course thank you for your comments regarding last week's snippet. <3 You guys are the best!

Lets move on to today!

As a reminder, Kaila was making her way through a dimly lit hall that led to a Sin's door. She's not scared...but maybe she should be?

I'd love some feedback as I'm not sure the lines read well and are a bit confusing to the reader (?).

Clearly Sloth thought of himself as pretty invincible if that was all the security he had. Then again – she spotted the giant doors looming over the end of the hall – maybe whatever was through that door was enough to scare anyone away. Or, he was simply too lazy to do anything about his security system. After all, Sloth or Waelsp as he was most commonly known, was king of the lazy.
She swallowed hard as she came to stand directly before the doors. King of lazy and worst. Sloth’s power could destroy a human being on Earth, here on his plane, well, what lay beyond was no doubt deadly.
Kaila could never quite understand why the Para-Hunters or Para-Guardians, considered him a minor Sin and often forgot him. The damn lazy beast took more victims into his vicious nest than any other Sin. True, they were mostly human souls but they were valuable nonetheless even if some Para-Hunters refused to see it.

Wednesday Brief: Pretty Boy #wednesdaybrief #writingprompt

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome back to another Wednesday Brief. I needed to write something new, so allow me to introduce, Josh. *smile*

Enjoy and don't forget to visit the other briefers!

Pretty Boy

It was a perfect day. The sun shone brightly amid the blue sky, while a gentle breeze blew from the north. The birds chirped happily from the trees, occasionally diving toward the ground to grab a crumb or another. Josh chewed on his ham and cheese sandwich. He thought about his day so far. He was close to finishing the massive project he'd been working on for the last month. His neighbor had called to tell him that they had delivered a package for him. He smiled. He could hardly wait to get home and become immersed in those books. All in all, life was good. Except for one thing; the man sitting a few tables away. Jay.

There he was, sitting at the picnic table, smiling left and right as people adored him like peasants adore a king. It was ridiculous. Couldn't people see past the pearly whites, dimpled cheeks and dazzling baby blues? Couldn't they see the type of person he was?

"Staring at Jay again."

Josh scowled. It was a statement, not a question. He turned to look at his friend and workmate, Rita, as she slid into the bench at his side.

"I wasn't staring."

"Sure you weren't." She rolled her eyes and took a sip of her smoothie. "You were simply, what did you call it last time? Um, observing."

"I'm an artist. I like observing people."

"I'm not saying you don't. I'm just pointing out that you only ever observe Jay."

"What are you talking about?" Josh crossed his arms over his chest."I've taken pictures of you before."

She laughed. "I know, but can you tell me who else you've been looking at in the last twenty minutes?"

"What?"

"You heard me, pretty boy, who else have you seen? You said you liked to observe people, so tell me who else you've been ogling."

Josh swallowed. Fuck. Leave it to Rita to catch him in a lie.

"Well," he began. Rita's eyebrow's shot up. "There's Marissa from the human resources department. She's got a tall frame, with um--"

"Tell me about her face."

Josh bit into his sandwich hoping to buy some time. What were Marissa's features like? He couldn't remember. The only image that popped up in his mind was Jay's face. Fuck.

"Well?"

"What do you want me to do? He's like a fucking unicorn, all bright and sparkly and commanding attention. No one measures up to him." Josh covered his face with his hands. He peeked at Jay through his fingers before turning to speak to Rita again. "I don't understand why you don't want to look at him?"

She shrugged. "He's not my type. He's too much of a pretty boy. I like my men a little less refined."

They both giggled, perfectly aware of Rita's long time crush on the head of the Repography department. The man always had a smudge of ink somewhere on his face and his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

"Now seriously, Josh, you have to get over him. It was only a one time thing. Yes, he's a jerk, but you have to move on."

"I know." Josh sighed. He knew he had to, but he couldn't, not with his secret in tow.
