Today I'm continuing with book two of Moon Point. The first story was published in the Evernight Publishing anthology, Owned by the Alpha. I've shared previous snippets from this story -when I first started writing it- so you might remember the characters, Lee and Alkaline.
Continuing from last week, let's see what Alkaline has to say to Lee's proposal.
Major editing has occurred to keep to guidelines :)
Enjoy!

"You're right, kit. I have imagined us
together. Your body below mine, your moans and grunts as we fuck, but it'll
never happen. We’re too similar, kit. Alkaline smirked. Lee stiffened. “We’re leaders,
Lee, alphas. I can see it in you as much as you can see it in me and I can’t be
with a man who contests my position and disrupts the order of my pride. I will
never bow down to you, and if even for a moment you thought yourself worthy to
be my mate, you won’t do it either.” Alkaline stepped away from Lee. “There’s
nothing for us here, Leeland."
Fascinating snippet, makes me want more :-)
ReplyDeletePowerful statement but will she regret it? That's the big question.
ReplyDeleteOh, but there is. Passion like this can't be denied!
ReplyDeleteHe's right, but I don't think that's going to stop their want for each other.
ReplyDeleteWell that certainly seems final...but I'm assuming it won't be LOL. Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteWell that's putting it to her bluntly. I suspect that it won't be the last word, however.
ReplyDeleteI love that nickname! Also, I know their Alphas and I know they think their romance won't work... but I'm willing to bet Alkaline is wrong. ;)
ReplyDeleteNow that's a conflict! How it's going to be resolved I really want to see. When will this come out?
ReplyDeleteThe finality of the last statement is what makes romance so fun.
ReplyDeleteTweeted.
Oh, the gauntlet has been thrown! Why do I think that Lee isn't going to back off at all?
ReplyDeleteOkay, you've convinced me he thinks they should be apart intellectually. When we factor in his emotions, though, will they tip the balance?
ReplyDeleteNice powerful interplay. Grrrrrowl!
ReplyDeleteVery logical, but...
ReplyDeleteWho says anyone has to bow down? If they can be partners, his argument doesn't work anymore.
