The Guardians #8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors #paranormal #romance #Guardians

Happy Sunday, lovelies!

It's been an insane week with lots of work from the EDJ. Not a bad thing, but it has left me little time to write and do anything remotely related. However, I've taken it easy this weekend and have finally finished editing Kaila and Seamus' story. Now, I just need to send it to some beta readers for approval and then if all goes well prepare a new submission.

Going on to the snippet. Last week, Kaila had finally entered Sloth's lair. She was in the dark and a voice spoke behind her. As you all guessed, it was Seamus. In today's snippet I've skipped a few lines and I've edited a lot to comply to the ten sentences rule.

Let's see what happens next, shall we?

*This  snippet has been edited to keep to guidelines.

Relief swept through her as his fingers curled around her upper arm in a firm grip.
“I couldn’t quite leave you to battle Sloth alone, could I?” he said. "Especially if the first thing you did was kick open the door and leave your bag behind,” he continued. "Tsc, tsc, Kaila, I thought they'd trained you better."

“They did, but clearly they didn’t do the same with you.” She clutched his wrist. “You took my things and have been hiding in the shadows, watching me panic all this time and that’s low, Seamus. Give me back my stuff and go do whatever it is you have to do.”
Seamus chuckled.
“You never let me help, anyway. Hold still, I’ll hand it to you.”

Seamus can be nice, sometimes. :)

***Looking for Beta Readers: I'm hoping to finish Kaila and Seamus' story sometime in October and could use one or two more beta readers. If anyone is interested, let me know! Thank you!

  1. You've got me wondering why he stood back and watched her, and what he was thinking as he did so.

    1. He had his reasons, Ed, and they are revealed, but mainly, he knew that she would have never let him help. It would have created more conflict than ever.

    1. Aw, thanks Doris :) He has his faults, but in essence, he's not a bad guy.

  3. There is a lot of banter between them that makes me think that they care for each other more than they are letting on.

  4. I do like Seamus. I want to know more about his backstory! Nit: I've never seen 'tsk' spelled 'tsc' before :) Looking forward to more of the story.

  5. Nice scene, Elyzabeth! I like the dynamics going on here.

  6. Seamus is teasing her. Me thinks he should hand it to her quick before he pushes a wrong button. I think "tsc, tsc" is spelled "tsk, tsk". Just something I noticed. Glad you had a relaxing weekend, Elyzabeth!

  8. I don't trust Seamus one bit. You've built a good character here.

  10. Seamus is being a real jerk. Hope she finds a way to show him she doesn't need him.

  11. Okay, Seamus is being a twatwaffle. Hope she gets to take him down a peg or two!

  12. OH, this is bound to get fun...Seamus better duck when he hands over the bag.

  13. Oh, she really doesn't like the idea of accepting his help. I'm sure they'll both need each other in the end for one reason or another. Great snippet! :-)

  14. Hmmm - why was he hiding in the shadows. There's something there - we have to learn :-)

  15. Why do I think he's going to be a jackass about handing it over? Still, great snippet! I've got one more ebook to finish and then I start BEAUTY IN THE BEAST! I'm very excited for it!

  16. Well, it could have been worse. And yes, I'm glad Seamus can be nice. At least I hope is! Great snippet!

  17. I have a feeling he's got a reason, and yet... that is a little unhelpful, watching her panic before he offers help.

  18. Seamus seems like a nice guy, but is he for real? Can she trust him? It will be interesting to see.
