Happy Sunday! Why is it that when we're on holiday the days go by much faster? I wish my work days would pass just as quickly. Anyway, today I have a a few more lines from Bear Heart for your reading pleasure.

Last week, Simon had growled and made the women aware of his presence. (You can read that here) Today, I've skipped a few lines to reach this little piece in which, I think, you'll get a little more insight on how Simon came to be a bear...and more.

“Wait.”

Simon's blood turned to ice as the younger woman’s voice echoed in his head. It was barely a whisper, but the power was there. She’d gotten through to him in a way that only magic possessors could do. She was one of them; she was like the woman that had turned him into an animal. He veered and charged, roaring in anger. 

A woman screamed, but the child did not budge. Calmly, she waited for him, arms outstretched and palms out, fingers facing down. Simon stopped in his tracks.
