Happy Thursday everyone!!
Forgive me for my absence these past few days but my vacation is almost over and I've been out and about. However, I couldn't miss the chance to interview author Kacey Hammell. Please welcome her to the blog *applause*. Kacey is here to tell us all about her recent Evernight release, Dare.
secretary, Olivia Warner enjoys being single and, aside from her
closest gal pals, usually keeps to herself. But the night of her
thirty-fourth birthday, she and her friends spend a fun-filled evening
at a local bar where her friends dare her to approach a man, and spend
the night with him.
not one to turn down a dare, especially from her old college pals. She
only hopes the man in question is in for some good conversation, because
that's all she'll give him.
“Dare” Shalvis has given up on women. He's tired of being chased for
his money, good looks, and prowess in bed. He prefers to meet a woman
who, for once, wants nothing more from him than mere conversation. If
only the woman asking him to spend the night with her wasn’t his
favorite legal secretary.
Accepting a dare has never been so tempting…
Welcome Kacey, tell us about your recent release.
DARE is a contemporary erotic romance that was a lot of fun to write. It
features two characters who have had their eyes on one another for a long
time, a group of best girlfriends who love to make mischief and a lot of hot,
sexy love scenes.
Where do you get your inspiration?
On an evening out with some of my girlfriends. We were all sitting around
discussing the old days, the game truth or dare and just being silly. Dare
started talking to me the next day.
Do you have a writing routine? If yes, what is it?
Nope, not at all. Whenever the mood strikes, and when I can. I jot down
notes / scenes on paper, then transcribe to computer. So whenever,
wherever I happen to be, I’m writing. Though I do try to put in at least a full
morning or afternoon of writing when possible.
Have you always wanted to be an author?
No. My husband suggested/convinced me to after years of reviewing other
Why did you chose to write romance?
Simply because I’ve always been a reader of it. Lindsay McKenna & Nora
Roberts, or and Joan Johnston and Debbie Macomber made me a fan years
and years (and years!) ago!
What do you most enjoy about writing?
The romance between the characters. I love happily ever afters and creating
them just makes me smile. Plus hearing from readers makes it all worth it.
Oh heavens, the list is long. Top 5 – Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron,
Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Vin Diesel, Shemar Moore
Favorite moment of the day?
When the kids get home from school. They give me hugs and always
ask “How was your day, Mum?” before I can ask them about theirs.
Favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
Curl up with hubby & kids and watch marathons of fave movies/shows. IE:
Lord of the Rings, Friends, Full House, Harry Potter.
What are you working on now?
A tasty morsel that features a nurse, two construction managers…so a
