T n' T's Confidential:Lily Sawyer

Good morning everyone! Today author Lily Sawyer is visiting! *applause* She's here to tell us a little about her story "Laying the Foundation" published on the Bigger Brief Anthology "Reluctant Romance: guys and guys".

Sometimes true love is reluctant to blossom and needs a little bit of coaxing in order to come out. But a strong will and a heart filled with determination will triumph every time! The authors of the Bigger Briefs present to you these m/m (m/f) tales of lovers who just need a gentle prod to push them into the relationship they’ve been yearning for.

Blurb: As an architect, Chester Jones loves seeing his drawings come to life. He enjoys his solitary life in the mountains of Colorado, close enough to Denver to see clients but far enough away to bask in Mother Nature's glory. The last thing he wants or needs is love—been there, done that. Why would he choose to put himself through that kind of pain again?
Jesse Waters is atop-notch surgeon in Denver. He wants to build a getaway in the country, and for that he needs an architect. Enter Chester Jones. Jesse'swilling, but Chester's reluctant—between
them, can they build somethingmore than a dream house?

Sound interesting, huh? How about a little excerpt for more temptation?

"Laying the Foundation."

“I’ll put the final touches on this plan and send it to your contractor.” Chester closed his Mac, seemingly oblivious to Jesse’s advances.
He’s leaving. Quick—think of something.
“Do you have to go?”
“Why, is there something else?”  Chester was halfway to the front door.
“I’ve never done this before, I don’t have a contractor. Can you maybe come out to the property with me and we can look it over?”
“Uh, well, I’ve been to the property already, but I suppose I can meet you there.”
“Okay, I’ll check my schedule and get back to you.”
Jesse watched Chester make a quick exit.  He took the coffee mugs into the kitchen and sighed.  “I bet I scared him off,” he said aloud in his empty, lonely home.
* * * *
Chester had had enough of Dr. Waters. The nerve of that man, making a pass at him.  It didn’t matter how handsome the blond was, he wasn’t interested in him or any other man.  After he’d gotten out of that rotten relationship with Derrick, he’d sworn off men.
He was a party of one and he was going to stay that way.
He was going to be professional and tell him that too, the next time he saw him.
Right now he was going to shower and change out of his business suit into something more comfortable and curl up with a good book; he was one of those people who still loved to have a real book in his hands, not some electronic reader.
After a hot, relaxing shower he sat reading in front of his big window, a glass of merlot on the table in front of him.  It was a romance novel—a gay romance story—one he’d gotten at one of the ubiquitous online publishers.  It wasn’t that Chester didn’t believe in love or the ideal in a happily ever after, it just wasn’t something that was going to happen for him… ever.
