#TNTConfidential 12 Days of Christmas - GIVEAWAY- Day 5- JC Wallace & Christmas Delights

Time is flying and it's already Day 5 of #TNTConfidential 12 Days of Christmas! Thank you everyone who's coming by, commenting and joining the fun! There's still more to come, like today's "Santa", author JC Wallace who's dropping in with some merry Christmas Delights!

What is your favorite thing about the Holidays?

I love spending time with my family. I also love the activities of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, my daughter and I bake cookies and make candy to give to our neighbors. Then my daughter sings in the children's choir at church. Christmas day is spent with my children, my grandchild, and other family, eating and just enjoying being together.

What inspired you to write your book?

Waiting for Snow is a short story in Christmas Delights—a Christmas anthology. I wrote this story after seeing a request from RJ Scott for submissions for a free anthology, which would include new and established authors. I had an idea for a Christmas story that I’d tucked away. The word limit was 10,000 though I could have written 60,000!I made the limit and was accepted into the anthology and, ta-da this is my first published story!

As kids, my sister and brother and I were sneaky. We were always looking for our hidden gifts. As we outgrew Santa, our mom would wrap our gifts and place them under the tree early. Of course, once there, we were all over them. So, one year, I really wanted a tape player. Now this was around 1980 so this (see pic) is what was all the rage. I mean you could record your voice!!!

Of course, I pawed through the gifts and figured out which one was my tape recorder. Now every Christmas Eve we were allowed to open one gift. Me, being the smart ass that I was, picked the tape recorder and opened itall cool and thinking my mom didn’t know I’d peeked. Well she knew because when I asked her where the tapes and the batteries were, she grinned (quite maliciously I might add) and told me that she’d wrapped them separately. So, yes, I had to wait until Christmas morning to play with my tape player. By the way, I used to tape record my brother snoring and my sister talking to her dolls. Yeah, I could be quite malicious too.

On Christmas Eve, he is reminded of those loses in a heart breaking confrontation with his father. As Dain is driving, unsure where to go, he meets Jake, the local sheriff.  Jake is very interested in Dain but can Dain learn to believe in love again?

  3. My uncle gave me two 45 rpm records. It meant so much because he never gave presents and he picked music that he liked.

  4. My mom bought me the best pair of boots for Christmas one year as a kid. I still have them worn out boots in the back of my closet.
