Since last week I showed you a few sentences from Book 3 of The Mercenary Tales,The Lost Mercenary, today I'm going to go with book 2 The Mercenary Slave.

Wybert stood motionless upon the wooden platform. Only his dark eyes moved, scanning the crowds with mild interest. Below him, slavers shouted out prices and their produce assets. Men and women milled about, bidding for slaves. Soldiers kept a watchful eye around the stages, ensuring that peace was kept inside the compound. Before him, a short man by the name of Maximus attempted to sell him.
“Look at those arms, ladies and gents. Those bulging muscles could belong to an ox and this man could still––“

Ambushed, captured and sold. After losing his best friend, Wybert is forced to give up his life as a mercenary and become a pleasure slave. The daunting task becomes harder than expected when the attraction to his slave master goes beyond the bedchamber.

Izz-Sarava was content with his life as the Zshanti's slave master until the new serf appeared. Somehow, under his presence, his control slips and his heart becomes exposed.
