You owe me another--#weekendwritingwarriors #sexysnippets from my WIP Alpha Protectors 3 #paranormal #romance

Happy Easter everyone!

How have you all been? I just checked and I've been gone a month from Weekend Writing Warriors and Sexy snippets. Damn. I knew March had been crazy busy, but I didn't realize how much until this moment.

Other than working at my EDJ, I do have to say that I have been diligently writing and have finished my latest WIP. Hallelujah! It's taken me a good five-six months to complete the thing.

Anyway, speaking of the little monster, I'm going to share a snippet from it. It might sound familiar as it's the same story I was sharing way back in February.

Remember Max? The last snippet I shared he had just entered a room from which mysterious laughter could be heard.

Today I'm sharing from a point further on in the story which is not so violent. MAJOR editing has taken place to adjust to guidelines.

Hope you enjoy it!

Elyzabeth

The heat of his gaze traveled up her body and she smiled. Now, they were speaking the same language so she moved closer, invading his personal space.
“I’m Eva,” she said. “What’s your name?”
“Max,” she said, leaning forward and brushing her lips against one of his cheeks. He took a step back, his indrawn breath audible.
“I’m so sorry, I always forget foreigners aren’t used to our ways. We give two kisses as a manner of greeting here.”
To her delight, he recovered quickly and pressed closer.
“Then you owe me another,” he said

Reine's Salvation

Alpha Protectors, 1

He’s the kind of man her mother warned her to steer clear from...

Mystique is happy with her current life, but for years she's struggled on a path of self-destruction. She knows she shouldn't get involved with the brooding hunk at the bar, but how can she stay away when his sorrowful gaze is so compelling?

Reine has lost everything: his wife, his friends, his ability to fight, and his identity as an Alpha Protector. There's nothing left for him except a world of anger and bitterness. At least, that’s what he believes until he meets an intrepid waitress.

The attraction between them is immediate, but while Reine can’t let go of his past, Mystique is not willing to return to hers. With darkness constantly closing in, will they find a way to be together? Or, will Reine's behavior destroy their future?

Seamus's Mate
Alpha Protectors, 2

Kaila is His. His Mate. Forever.

When Seamus discovers Kaila is in danger he sets out to save her. He couldn’t care less that she doesn’t want him there. His objective in life is to love and protect her. Besides, she might refuse to be with him, but her body knows better. With both their lives on the line, she can’t say no to his aid, can she?

For years, she has ignored her feelings.

Kaila’s mission was supposed to be easy: enter the demon’s lair and save her sister. Then, he came along. For close to twenty years she has been fighting against the mating pull. She has avoided Seamus at all costs, but now they’re both trapped in hell and she has nowhere to run, except, maybe, into his arms.

  2. I somehow doubt this is truly a custom of long standing. Maybe something she just made up?

    1. LOL It's a thing in Spain. Except in business situations, here men greet women with two kisses and women greet other women with two kisses as well. :)

  3. It's not just a Spanish thing - it's European. And a great way to greet someone.

    1. Thanks for the tweet, Daryl :) The story takes place in Spain ;-) I know it's common in other European countries (such as Italy), but it's not an extended practice in places such as Germany. (Especially, when you've just met someone for the first time!)

  4. Ah how cultural differences make such an impact! I remember how long it took me so long to get used to the two kisses on the cheeks when I was living in Spain. Very nice how you include typical Spanish culture into this snippet, Elyzabeth.

Speaking of Spain, I look forward to seeing you there in May. My trip is all booked, and I'll be in Madrid from May 10th until the 14th. Hope your trip to Scotland was great!

  7. I love how he "recovered" so quickly. More kisses on the way, I predict.
My German relatives recently adopted the two kiss method. It's a little hard to get used to. Use to be just a handshake upon arrival!
