Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.
In last week's snippet, you saw the effect Christopher Bexley had on Morgana's maid... let's see the heroine's first impression...
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Christopher Bexley was a
man in his prime. Tall and broad in the shoulders, his presence seemed to fill
the room. Fashionably dressed, only the shadow of his beard denoted that his
visit had not been entirely planned. The corner of his lips turned into a
knowing smile. Morgana frowned. Indeed, his energy was similar to her mother's:
not entirely evil, but not entirely good either. She had better be wary of him.
Politely, Morgana gave him a nod of recognition and then focused on her maid.
"Thank you, Jacinta.
You may leave us."

Beauty in the Beast
Light will
become shadow. Love will become hate. Good will become evil. The Darkness is
here. There will be no escape.
Morgana Wiles has
spent her life, alongside her mother, fighting against the arrival of the
creature known as The Darkness. Unfortunately, neither of them were able to
stop him and now he's here, ready to destroy all that is good in the world.
Morgana must face him, but now that the time has come, she finds that things
are not as simple. Her mother is gone, self-doubt is creeping in, and her
visions are unclear. To make matters worse, a man with evil intent has entered
her life and is bent on complicating her mission. Will she be able to resist
him in time to fight The Darkness or will she succumb and become that which she
despises?
He sounds intriguing. I like a man with a dark edge to him.
ReplyDeleteMorgana, is not cautious here when she dismisses the maid. She's asking for trouble, alone with him. Interesting premise.
ReplyDeleteHe sounds like a force to be taken cautiously. Excellent snippet.
ReplyDeleteGreat description of this interesting character. Love how the maid is still hanging around, no doubt ogling. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, sounds as though she should most defintely be a tad wary of him :-)
ReplyDeleteOh no. He sounds like a bad boy who needs to be saved. ;-) Good story premise, Elyzabeth!
ReplyDeleteI bet Jacinta would like to stay. Or meet with him later LOL. Interesting snippet, enjoyed the description.
ReplyDelete"...not entirely evil, but not entirely good either." I wonder if he'll be bad guy whom she'll convert to become good.
ReplyDeleteWise to be wary of him, indeed. Great snippet, Elyzabeth. :)
ReplyDeleteHe seems very sure of himself and the outcome of his visit. She better be careful with him.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can see how she might be tempted by him, but she's smart to recognize that he could be dangerous. Great snippet!
