Today I’m continuing with the story I started to weeks ago (you can read those snippets here and here). But, just to recap, we left out protagonist following a strange sound and about to meet a creature that emerged from behind a tree.

Relief made her laugh foolishly. Coming toward her was another human being. True he was very tall and dressed strangely, or rather lacked clothing, but there was no denying he was human. After all, he had arms, legs, a sculpted torso and -- Clare took a step backwards. The man-look-alike stopped a few feet before her and smiled. Her mouth dropped open. At this distance it was impossible to mistake. The things on his head which she had blatantly ignored, were horns.
