Greetings lovelies! Welcome to #TNTConfidential Author Interview/Spotlight.
Today I have
the pleasure of sitting down for a cool drink with the fabulous Doris O’Connor.
Doris has had not one, but 3 releases in the past few weeks: Her Imaginary
Lover, Executive Assistant and Taken by her Alien warriors! Talk about
productive!
Admit it Doris, you don’t have an
Imaginary Lover at home, you have an imaginary helper! Or maybe it’s a genie
like the one from Sol and the Magic Fingers?
I know, I know, I’ve asked you this before, but how do you manage to have so
many releases in such a short period of time? (And folks, they’re good books
too!)
D:
Well, I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.
*sniggers* Bad joke, I know! To
be honest, I don’t actually know. It just happens. Entirely depends what my
muse is up to. She does things in fits and bursts. Mad moments of activity,
followed by yawning nothingness. I don’t question it, just go with the flow and
somehow it works. All I know is that when an idea really grabs me. I simply
*have* to write and usually lose sleep in order to do so.
How
about the inspiration; where does that stem from?
D: Anywhere and anything. Lately,
evening dog walks with hubby have proven very productive. In fact Her Imaginary
Lover came about as a result of one such walk. I was in a writing slump, and
hubby said,” I Know, write about invisible people watching us…” By the end of
that walk I was itching to write the story J
Submission calls are another
surefire way to get my muse fired up. She can never resist an Anthology call…
The day after I heard about the Executive Assistant Anthology, I got up, and
had my morning shower, and bang, there was my story. It practically wrote
itself J
And Taken by her Alien Warriors
also came about due to a submission call. As it happened the story wasn’t right
to fit into that particular sub call, so I made it my own and the Warriors were
born. Again I didn’t set out to make a series, but as I wrote, characters
popped up and I just knew they needed their own story. Book 2 has just been
accepted by Siren and I have the basic ideas for book 3 and 4, and possibly 5.
My muse seems to have fallen hard
for these Aliens and they are such fun to write!
You’ve
written science fiction, paranormal, contemporary… Is there any genre you
haven’t written that you’d like to try?
D: Hmm, apart from a short story
which involved time travel, I haven’t written anything historical. I love
reading regency, but I don’t think I’ll ever write it. And as much as my kids
would love for me to write YA stories, I don’t think that’ll happen in a hurry.
I can never stop my characters from jumping each other, and my muse is a rather
dirty gertie, lol.
So I think, erotica and erotic
romance is where I’ll stay, and just explore the various subgenres in that.
*Elyzabeth
rubs her hands* I’m going to be a tad evil, out of the three books you’ve just
released which one is your favorite and why? If you had to recommend readers to
read only one, which one would you chose?
D: *glares at Elyzabeth*
Cruel woman, cruel I say! Well, I
love Her Imaginary Lover, but I think I’d have to go with Taken by her Alien
Warriors, just because those Aliens are such strong voices in my head, and
they’re so deliciously naughty. You can have so much fun with m/m/f stories,
and then add in the fact the men are Aliens, and the wonderfully inventive use
of their horns… and other attributes… plus the fact it’s Sci-fi, and … yes,
just fun J
They are also turning out to be
incredibly emotional stories. I cried buckets writing book 2 in particular.
Tell
us something that doesn’t appear in the blurb of these releases.
D: Taken by her Alien Warriors - Drool
worthy Aliens who have unique ways of using their horns, spanking, anal, mm
action, and double penetration. Warning:
Reading may induce hot flushes.
Her Imaginary Lover – Dominant
Athuron meets human determined to fight for his cock … and their love. Warning:
Reading may give you interesting dreams
Executive Assistant – Be careful
what you wish for. The office may never be the same again. Warning: Will need a
fan while reading
Finally,
I know you’re working on something. What is it?
D: You know me well, lol. I’m
always working on something. I have several WIPs on the go at the minute in
fact. My muse can’t seem to settle on one.
There is Carmel’s Fantasy which
will be a hot little BDSM themed Romance on the Go story (at least I think it
will be, lol)
Let’s Get It On, which is m/f/m
about two brothers after the same girl.
The Polar Project which is book 4
of my projects series, about reclusive polar bear shifter Stefan and the
bumbling, half breed Siberian tiger shifter Natasha, who will rattle his fur in
more ways than one.
And book 3 of my Auctioned
series, which has Master Pedro teaching one nosy reporter some lessons.
I’ve also got another Bear
shifter prowling in my head.
As to who will win and what will
get written… lord knows. I swear my muse has ADHD. I just wish she’d decide
already and get on with it.
Summer Loving…
Summer
is here! What’s your best summer memory?
D: A week I spent in Rome after
finishing my A-levels. We saw the city from the back of a Vespa, shown around
by two hunky German soldiers who my friend and I hooked up with just for the
week. I leave it up to your imagination what else we got up to :-P
Any
recommendations to stave off this heat?
D: Cotton clothing, lots of cool
drinks, a cabana boy, a pool … oh hang on, just ventured into fantasy land
there, lol.
I love my fan, nuff said.
For
women (or for yourself): bikini, trikini, full body bathing suit, other?
D: Bikini, not that I’d get away
with wearing one nowadays, lol.
D: Board
shorts (leaves things to the imagination)
Favorite summer destination?
D: Anywhere
warm by the beach
Any plans for this summer?
D: We’ve
already been on hols, so this summer will be spent doing DIY. What fun. Well,
actually it is for me. I get to take the kids out and hubby will be the one
slaving away ;-)
Thanks so
much for having me here today, Elyzabeth :)

When your imaginary friend turns out to be real,
there's only one thing you can do—have the best sex of your life.
When she is attacked on her way home from work, Macie
Johann's ordered world is thrown into chaos. And the muscle bound hunk that
comes to her rescue would appear to be naked? Okay then, maybe she has hit her
head a bit too hard? But then again, no one else seems to notice him, and there
is something very familiar about this guy. He reminds her of her imaginary
childhood playmate, Kaylom.
Blind from birth, Macie has learned to trust her
senses, and they all scream at her to grab her chance of true happiness with
the man who makes her body and soul sing. Never mind the small fact of his not
being human.
When their actions get Kaylom yanked back into his
dimension to stand trial, Macie follows, determined to fight for her man.

Takeovers always
cause chaos, never more so when the friend you've been secretively lusting

gets himself sacked.
Maybe it's the
formal wear the new CEO insists on, but Shane seems like a different man, and
Emma's long pent up desires threaten to get her into as much trouble as Shane
seems to have landed himself in.
As secrets
unlock and office politics come into play, is there a happy ending for Shane

The men of any species have needs…
Gemini Hudson has grown up, knowing the truth behind those
words, but what happens when those needs pitch lovers against each other in a
war torn galaxy?
Cirrion Warrior Zorran rescued a nine year old Gemini in a
rare show of compassion. Twelve years later his slave has grown into a
beautiful young woman which he feels inexorably drawn to. However, she is only
human and too fragile for his dark desires. Desires he is certain he can only
share with one man—his Drakan lover Ornack.
With Drakan at war with Cirrion the men's relationship
seems doomed to failure. Giving Gemini to Ornack will fulfil their emotional
needs in a way Zorran can't.
From the minute he sees her, Lord Ornack knows this female
is the one woman who can complete their circle, because she loves Zorran as
much as he does.
There's only one solution. Claim both his mates and damn

About Doris
Glutton for
punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she
hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of
nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too
small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very
understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.
There is always
something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and
trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the
voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories
told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only
time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.
She likes to
spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and
heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to
F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.
