#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors: Luna #paranormal #romance #Weak

Happy Sunday, guys!
Apologies for last week's mishap. I signed up but set up the post on the wrong date so it obviously did not show up. *facepalm* It's been heat wave after heat wave here in Madrid so we've been having +100º F which in consequence has meant a lot of sleepless nights. Add to that a ton of work and I've been exhausted. Today it's cooled a little bit, but rumor is temperatures are going to rise again starting tomorrow. Sigh. I can't wait for my holidays! Only two more weeks.
Anyway, on to the snippet!
Let's recap: Clare (aka Luna), has met a mysterious, yet hunky, alien who's come to take her back to his home. She believes he's Mikelo, the alien boy she'd met twenty years ago... but he's presented himself as Serrik. In shock, Clare doesn't know how to react. Serrik taunts her and asks her why she is not screaming. In the previous snippet he tells her that her destiny is tied with his people. Clare denies it and  he threatens her. Serrik will do whatever it takes to get Clare back to his world and to Mikelo.
Serrik has let Clare know that if she doesn't adapt to his alien world she'll die (be killed). Clare runs and Serrik follows at a slow pace until he gets tired, hides behind a tree and re-captures her.  Finally, he drags her back to his own world, where we meet Mikelo.

Mikelo closed his eyes and rubbed the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. He hoped not, for if she had become weak she would not survive long in his kingdom. He swallowed the bitter bile that climbed to the back of his throat at the thought. Serrik had told him he believed she was strong. Even though hed brought her in his arms, unconscious after shed stepped through the portal and glimpsed at their red skies, he still thought she was resilient. Mikelo valued the other mans opinion. He would arm himself with patience and wait. He would not be quick to judge. She deserved more than that.

  1. I am very intrigued, Elyzabeth! What is up with this world that she might not be tough enough to survive? Red skies... Interesting!

  2. Wonderful writing with intrigue and doubts about the beautiful woman. But we are women and we are strong so even in fiction, you'll make it work!

  3. I'm really enjoying this story and pondering the two men and which one she'll end up with (or both?). Happy to see another excerpt from it today and it was nice to have some of Mikelo's thoughts.

  4. She certainly does deserve more than that. Fab snippet, as always, Elyzabeth :-)

  5. The least he could do in my opinion. Great snippet, Elyzabeth.
