Heartbreaker Blog Hop

Are our heroes heartthrobs or heartbreakers? Or are they just the same thing? Yummy right? Valentine's Day is just around the corner for this blog hop and we're gearing up to see what exactly is a heartbreaker. Is the song playing in your head line mine? "Cuz he's a heartbreaker!" We love those sexy men, but what about those times in the story when they aren't perfect. Because come on, we know they aren't perfect. What makes those men heartbreakers? What can those guys do to make it better? Is there a way to grovel? Come on! Tell me about your heartbreaker!!

Almost 300 bloggers have giveaways and posts about those men we love!

But that's not all....

We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

Now what are those prizes?

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $100 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more! [only open to readers in the USA]

*Sigh* Heartbreakers. Are they incapable of love? Are they unconcerned about those around them? What are they? Creatures from outer space that lack feelings? Superior beings too handsome for the mere mortal man or woman to understand?

The only thing I have clear about them is that they are inevitably loved and that in their wake they tend to leave a trail of tears.

Who hasn’t fallen for the oh, so handsome bad boy that breaks your heart? I know I have.

*frowns* I’m trying to decide which one, if any of my character’s is a heartbreaker. Two of them come to mind: Conrad and Wolf.

Conrad is the hero of The Mercenary Knight. He’s got a strong personality. Likes to brood and is used to being in charge. He’s not incapable of love but when Tanya appears in his life everything gets out of control and he doesn’t like it one bit.

My other heartbreaker character is Wolf. He appears in The Lost Mercenary and though he is not a main character, well, let me tell you, they don’t call him “the wolf” for nothing. *Wink*

I'm giving away a $5 Amazon Gift certificate to a commenter. Simply tell me what your idea of a heartbreaker is (remember to leave your email so I can get in touch if you win).

By the way, my birthday is on Tuesday! I’ll be celebrating next weekend (Feb 15,16,17) with some more surprise giveaways for my readers. Also, on Tuesday and Thursday I have visiting authors Tali Spencer and Adonis Devereux (with a Valentine’s day giveaway).  Please join me and my friends! The more the merrier!

The Mercenary Knight

“Men have their needs, as do women.” That’s Tanya’s premise as she flees her hometown and encounters four helpful mercenaries: Conrad, Wybert, Gregorii and Johann. However, her unexpected attraction to the aloof Conrad will tickle not only her desire but also her heart.

Once a knight of the kingdom, Conrad now roams the road as a ruthless mercenary in the company of his three men. Years have passed since he quit the Code but old habits die hard. He can’t stop himself from being a chivalrous gentleman to the tavern wench he’s saved, even if his desire for her surpasses anything he’s ever felt before. But, for how long will he be able to fight the temptation?

Evernight Publishing Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Evernight Publishing birthday blog hop!

Evernight Publishing opened its doors two years ago. In those two years we’ve signed over one hundred and sixty authors and published over three hundred books. From paranormal to contemporary, we’ve had more best sellers than we can count and made thousands of people smile, sigh and gasp.

So, as a thank you to all our readers and everyone who has supported us, we’re holding this blog hop and we have a whole lot of prizes to offer you. Here's how it works... the more blogs you hop to (shown below) the more chance you have of winning prizes. Each author on the hop is offering a prize and Evernight is offering the following grand prizes, a Kindle, a $100 Amazon gift certificate, two Evernight swag bags (which includes a tote, a tee, vouchers, a mug and other coolness) and a personalized Facebook banner.

To be in with a chance of winning the author prize simply follow the blog you're visiting and leave a comment which includes your email address. Each entry on each blog is then counted towards the grand prize draw. The more entries you have, the better your chance of winning a grand prize! You also get extra points for liking the Evernight Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/evernightpublishing. Just make sure you let us know in the comments that you've done so. Good luck and happy hopping!

Welcome readers to this week-long awesome celebration!

Evernight turns 2 years old and I'm fortunate to say that I've been part of the family for the better part of those 2 years. It all started with my novel A Decade of Longing, published in 2011.

Then, The Mercenary Tales were born and I hoped they could find a home with Evernight: they did. Book 3 of the Mercenary Tales is set for release in November, and I hope to release more titles with this awesome publisher. Evernight not only treats their authors like queens and kings, but gives readers an experience they'll never forget.

But enough emotional talk, *wink*, allow me to get to the even more interesting tidbit! As mentioned above, Evernight authors will be giving away their own prizes. I'm giving away one book from my Evernight backlist, your choice.

You can see a list of my books either on the tab above *Books* or here. Just leave your comment (with your email address) and hop on for more fun!

*The contest is open to readers from all over the world!

A special Six Sentence Sunday

Happy Sunday, readers!

My publisher, Evernight, is turning 2 years old this month! Yay! They're holding a bunch of contests, including a blog hop which will start tomorrow and in which you can win free books, a nifty swag bag with tons of goodies (t-shirts, mugs...) and a Kindle!

Anyhow, back to today. As homage to this great celebration my Six Sentences belong to my first published Evernight novel: A Decade of Longing.

 Blurb:

Angelica and Alexander fell in love at a young age. Unfortunately, their love is doomed since the beginning. Forcibly separated, Angelica is obligated to marry another man at her father’s convenience while Alexander is prohibited from ever seeking her out again.

Ten years later, however, Alexander is no longer the callow boy he used to be. Now an influential gentleman, he is bent on recovering the only woman he has ever loved. No matter the cost. But has their love withstood the ravages of time?

Evernight has been home to A Decade of Longing, The Mercenary Knight, The Mercenary Slave, and my upcoming release The Lost Mercenary. I've had a great experience with them and I sincerely hope to continue growing at their side in the future.

Without further ado and before I get teary eyed, my Six Sentences:

It was time. He stepped away from the column and made his way towards her. As if sensing his presence, she turned around, her eyes locking with his, her acquaintance forgotten.
Neither of them moved. He noticed as her smile faded, her lips parted slightly, and her chest rose as she drew a deep breath. He moved towards her purposely.

If you liked it and are interested in reading this title or any other by me or my Evernight mates, visit ARE because ALL Evernight titles are 50% off. And don't forget to visit the rest of the fantastic authors participating in Six Sentence Sunday. Click here for the full list.

Six Sentence Sunday (I'm Celebrating!)

Happy Sunday my dear friends!

Click on the image to visit the Blog
I'm finally on vacation and almost finished with my WIP: Book 3 of The Mercenary Tales. To celebrate the beginning of my holidays and the release of The Mercenary Slave (Book 2 of The Mercenary Tales), which took place in August, I'll be blogging at the Goddess Fish Party Pavilion all day and giving away one copy of The Mercenary Slave to a commenter.

Anyhow, back to Six Sentence Sunday! Today's Six belong to my current WIP. In this scene, Emmeline is remembering the last time she saw Gregorii and realizing that she has feelings for the mercenary.

With trembling fingers, she had swept back a strand of Gregorii’s hair, her fingertips running over his jaw, already rough with the growth of a new beard. Her thumb brushed against his lips, marveling at its softness. She leaned towards him and placed her lips over his. He did not respond and her heart broke as she realized that she did not want to leave him. Somehow, in the past few days he had gone and crawled back into her heart, a memory of better times but also a promise of a future that she could not have.
Duty came first.

The Mercenary Slave:

Ambushed, captured and sold…

After losing his best friend, Wybert is forced to give up his life as a mercenary and become a pleasure slave. The daunting task becomes harder than expected when the attraction to his slave master goes beyond the bedchamber.

Izz-Sarava was content with his life as the Zshanti’s slave master until the new serf appeared. Somehow, under his presence, his control slips and his heart becomes exposed.
As their feelings develop, will they be able to overcome a past that haunts them to pursue a future together?

Six Sentence Sunday

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday!

Today's Six are from my upcoming release (this Tuesday!!) of The Mercenary Slave.

He lost his train of thought when a shiver of awareness raced down his spine. If his hands had been free, he would have turned and swept out his cutlass, prepared for an oncoming attack. Instead, he remained immobile, listening, and hoping that amid the ruckus he could sense where the danger lay. As the seconds ticked by, the jumpy feeling evaporated, leaving in its stead a warm glow. His cock twitched, responding to the heated stare scorching his skin. Wybert cleared his throat, uncomfortable.

I'm off in a bit to cool off from this dreadful heat at the movies watching Disney- Pixar's, Brave. Have a great day and as always, don't forget to visit the rest of the authors participating in Six Sentence Sunday. *click here*

Six Sentence Sunday

Greetings everyone!

I was a bit doubtful as to what Six Sentences to pick today... from my WIP? from another novel? I finally decided to do a sort of mix. These Six Sentences belong to my Evernight novel "The Mercenary Knight" and they describe my WIP's main character: Wybert.
Enjoy!

Even though he stooped over her, Wybert was incredibly tall. She couldn’t tell for sure from her position, but she guessed that he was probably the largest of the men. He wore tight leather breaches that hugged his muscled legs and a brown vest over a green chemise that barely held his buff arms in check. Hanging at his side he had an equally powerful weapon, a cutlass. His hair was short and curly, closely hugging his scalp. His nose was a bit flat and had a slight bump towards the middle, probably from previous battles.

First Six Sentence Sunday of the year!

Happy Sunday! I haven't participated in Six Sentence Sunday for quite a while- not sure why- I'm guessing all the classwork got in the way.

Nonetheless, I just started a new WIP and I'm super excited. It's the story of Wybert, companion of Conrad from The Mercenary Knight. When I wrote that novel I had no intention of making a book 2, or continuing the tale of the other mercenaries...but a few weeks ago their stories just came to me, so of course, I gave in to their demands and began writing Wybert's tale. Grigorii will just have to wait a bit.

Funny thing is that I had something plotted for Wybert but as I wrote he decided to stray from the given path and now... well, things are turning out quite differently from what I expected!

Anyhow, my Six Sentence Sunday of today belong to this new WIP. Hope you enjoy! And as always, don't forget to visit the other participants.

She lifted her gaze to stare at Wybert. Slowly, she allowed her robe to slide past her shoulders, slither down her arms, and slip over her waist to finally pool on the floor at her feet. The woman stood still, her pale white skin gleaming under the bright light of the fire and candles. Melassar grabbed her braid and tugged, forcing her head to the side. His lips collided against hers in a forceful kiss. His tongue entwined with hers, devouring every inch of her delectable mouth.

By the way, I'm blogging at Goddess Fish today and giving away a copy of The Uncertain List, so if you have a chance stop by and comment.

Happy New Year! Candyce’s Sweet Surprise finale.

Greetings friends! Today is the last day of the year 2011! Wohoo! A lot of things have happened to me this past year. For instance:

- In February I decided to end a 6 year relationship

- My 13 year old dog, Lucky, passed away

- I studied, studied, studied and studied some more (and I'm still studying)

- I continued to develop the amazing friendship I have with author, Scarlett Knight

- In April I went on a road trip to the beach with my close friends and had an awesome time

- In August I got a new puppy because my other dog Ginger became very sad when her daddy passed away. Brego, the adorable black labrador became part of my small family.

- I released four different novels:

  • Dreams of Fate (Etopia Press);

  • A Decade of Longing (Evernight Publishing-- this was very special to me because it was my 2008 Nanowrimo project);

  • The Mercenary Knight (Evernight Publishing) and

  • The Uncertain List (Silver Publishing)

- I released my first audio book: Teaching Alisse (Silver Publishing)

- One of my novels, The Mercenary Knight, is an ARE bestseller- something which I never even dreamed possible and which still thrills me to no end :-)

- But, one of the most important things that has happened to me this year is that I've met some fantastic people along the way: readers, editors and authors like: Rie Langdon, Freddy MacKay, Alison Todd, Georgia Fox, Lorraine Nelson, Adonis Devereux, London Saint James, Annie Melton, Melissa Bell, Jennifer Fitzpatrick...

To all those I've met, to all those I know and have struggled with me throughout this year:

Thank you!

Thank you for your time and your company. I wish you all the best for this new year that is about to begin.

I hope everyone has a good time tonight :-) and As promised, here is the ending for Candyce's Sweet Surprise (read the beginning here!) which I started last Wednesday for Silver Flash day.

Hope you enjoy this little flash. :-) Have a great last day of the year and a fantastic beginning! Wishing you all the best!

Beware: this one is HOT

Candyce's Sweet Surprise

“We’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

Candyce swallowed hard. “Who, me?” She now had no doubts this was a dream. Men like those two stationed at the door to the bedroom did not go around looking for girls like her. Men like those either did not exist or were already hitched. She stared at them unbelieving. Both of them were tall, at least a good six feet something, wearing nothing more than short red robes. One of them was fair with green eyes, the other dark with matching eyes. While one was thin and lithe, with barely defined muscles, the other was thick and brawny, with bulging biceps. Both of them so appealing her body responded without preamble. Her nipples hardened under the thin material she was wearing and she tried to cross her arms before her chest, but the garment was so short that if she lifted her arms the men would get a good glimpse of her pubis. Finally, she decided to press her hands to her sides, in an effort to control her body’s excitement to the masculine beauties before her.

“Yes, of course, who else?” The first one spoke up. Her body churned. His voice was like honey or melted chocolate; white chocolate. Candyce smiled. She must have gotten drunk with the cherry liquor and hit her head.

“So, why were you looking for me?” she ventured.

Both men smiled at the same time. Their eyes glittered dangerously as they walked towards her.

“You know… the usual.” The fair-haired man spoke. His voice was husky, raspy, it reminded her of the feeling the liquor left on her throat. His pale eyes roamed over her body, hungrily. Her cheeks warmed.

“I—“

“Don’t mind him, cherie,” the dark haired one said. “He’s hungry.”

“And you’re not?”

“Yes, but I have manners, nonetheless.” Candyce stared from one to the other. “My name is Jasper and he’s Melker.”

“I’m Candyce.”

“We know,” Melker said. Candyce took in a sharp breath as one of his long fingers caressed her jaw. The pad of his thumb grazed her lips. Without knowing why, she opened up to him, taking the tip of his finger into her mouth. Her tongue shyly darted out, tasting the appendage. Cherry liquor. Strong hands wrapped themselves on her waist. She gasped audibly when she felt the thick hard member rest against her ass. She opened her mouth to speak but Melker pressed his lips to hers and she plunged with gusto into the ardent kiss. Hands, she didn’t know if Melker’s or Jaspers, slid over her breasts, stumbling over the erect nipple but not pausing to touch. Her breasts ached. She wanted to be touched. Again, the large hands travelled over her heavy breasts. She arched her back. Fingers pulled at her nipple and she moaned into Melker’s mouth.

“We’d thought you’d need more convincing. I’m glad we were wrong.” Jasper’s voice in her ear coupled with his warm breath, made her legs shake and her arousal soar.

Melker released her from his embrace. Taking a step back he shrugged off his robe. Candyce stared. Never in her life had she seen something so long and big and… her juices streamed down her thighs, her body clearly as keyed up at Melker’s male organ as her mind. Rough hands turned her over. Her jaw dropped. Melker was long but Jasper was thick. She looked up at him and he chuckled.
“Don’t worry, cherie, it will fit.” He bent over her and in one tug pulled off her negligee. Drawing her against him, his hands dipping to cup her ass, he whispered in her ear, “it always fits.” Candyce’s eyes widened but she barely had a moment to register his words before his mouth clamped on hers. Melker’s kiss had been arduous, passionate, hot; Jasper’s was soft, tender, branding.
Candyce jerked when Melker’s tongue swept across her folds. Jasper’s grip on her tightened. His hands on her ass massaged the round globes. In perfect timing, one of his fingers probed the entrance to her anus as Melker’s tongue delved into her cunt. She wanted to cry out in pleasure, but her pitiful moan of delight was swallowed by Jasper’s kiss.

The men created a rhythm that tormented her body. When one entered, the other pulled out. She rocked against them, the ache in her body so sharp she thought she’d cry. They’d never stay inside her enough, never fill her to completion, and never let her find satisfaction. She knew there were more than two fingers inside her at once; maybe three, maybe four, maybe even five. They probed, explored and opened her up for them. They made her body weep and sweat for them. They made her whimper, moan and beg and she enjoyed every minute of it, but enough was enough. She couldn’t take it anymore. She needed them inside her, pumping into her, giving her those delicious cocks to which fingers were no substitute.

“Please, Melker, please Jasper.” She begged for the hundredth time. Jasper looked up at her. He was suckling on her breasts, teasing the pink nubs, biting, licking, blowing on them until they ached.

She met his lidded stare. “Please.”

He nodded once and relief flowed through her.

“She’s more than ready, Melker.”

Melker stepped away from her and observed her with a cheeky smile. “She most certainly is.” He stroked his cock, spreading the glistening drops of precome that coated it. “But maybe, we could…” Placing a hand on her shoulder he pushed down. Candyce willingly fell to her knees. Without waiting, she eagerly took Melker’s cock into her mouth. Their moans reverberated loudly in the room. She lapped hungrily at the long member. A nudge made her glance upwards. The sight of Jasper’s fat cock met her. Hungrily, she took him into her mouth, opening wide to fit as much as him inside as possible. Greedily she sucked both men, palming their balls, licking from base to top and back again. She wanted to bring them to the edge of insanity as they had brought her. Her body rocked on it’s own volition searching for release as it brought both men to the brink.

“Enough, Candyce.” Jasper grabbed her under the arms, lifted her and threw her onto the four-poster bed. Lying back against the pillows he brought her to him, obliging her to straddle him. His cock was inches away from her hot pussy and she wanted nothing more than to sink into it, but he held her at bay.

“You will not come until we allow you, do you hear?” he threatened.

Candyce nodded. With a small smile, Jasper pulled her down, impaling her onto his cock. Both of them groaned loudly. She longed to move against him, to have him move inside of her, but the dark haired man was stock-still. A gasp escaped her lips as she felt Melker’s long, thin cock fill her anus. She trembled, trying to hold back the orgasm which fought so hard to explode as both men crammed themselves inside her body.

“Don’t,” Jasper warned.

She was barely able to nod, in fear that the slightest movement would trigger her. They were only seconds, but it was torture until Melker was fully inside her.

Jasper smiled. “Now, we fuck.”

Candyce gasped, and then screamed as both men moved at once, one entering, the other pushing further inside. She didn’t need much more. Her body reacted to the celestial feeling and as the men pushed and shoved, her climax hit her hard, milking the cocks nestled deep inside her. Barely a few seconds later the men grunted their release, their sperm shooting hard inside her.

Candyce opened her eyes. She trembled from head to toe. She looked around her. How? She was back at the storage room, the lights were on, but the old lady was nowhere to be seen.

“Sweety, sorry I had to leave you here. There was a customer upstairs. Are you alright?”

The old lady appeared from behind her, the red box of chocolate still in her hands, her warm smile in place.

Candyce shook her head. She felt clammy, feverish, unstable. Maybe the chocolate was bad?

She cleared her throat. “I, I think it’s the heat from the storage room. I better be going.”

Had it all been a dream? It couldn’t have been…but then again… She had barely reached for the door knob when the old lady called after her.

“Here, I think you dropped this downstairs.”

Candyce took the card. She stared hard at the white and red slip of paper.

With a shaking hand, she turned the card around. Scribbled in neat handwriting were the words: “Looking forward to seeing you at the New Year’s party, Candyce.” and underneath in a sloppy stance, “In the end, it always fits.”

Candyce looked up at the elderly woman who regarded her with a mischievous smile. “Thank you.”

Noelia winked. Candyce stored the card in her purse and walked out. She grinned as she started her way back home. Guess she would be going to that party, after all.
