#Friday Happy Author Hour! Share a drink with your favorite #Authors! #HappyHour #writing Today with Shehanne Moore @ShehanneMoore

Whether you're an author or not, you've heard it before: All authors drink.

But what do they drink?
Happy Author Hour Open Bar is open! Today with the fabulous Shehanne Moore and an exotic drink: The Singapore Sling!

Shehanne Moore and the Singapore Sling

Hmmmm, what’s my poison? Not wanting to lower the tone of my lovely partner in doodling’s, blog, I’m going for that exotic and famous cocktail, the Singapore Sling--originally meant as a woman’s drink because it’s pink. Huh. At the end of a long, hard day on the beach it’s ideal, except I live in Scotland so I’m not on beaches too often. The Sling was originally created by Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon for the Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

Although it’s probably meant to be sipped on a rattan chair, under a ceiling fan, it’s still purty good taken beneath alien constellations in tiny Greek villages, not to mention night clubs in ruined villages in the hills.
Just watch where you lead the conga line afterwards.

I don’t dispute the recipe is open to just that…dispute. Please don’t let me stir up any controversy but Benedictine is apparently the magic ingredient.

Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker, fill with ice and shake until the shaker is well frosted. Strain into a tall glass and garnish with a slice of pineapple and cherry.

I somehow had it in my head that Raffles Hotel was connected with Raffles, the gentleman thief. A big  DUH. It was named after Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Visit these days and you can view the safe in which Mr. Ngiam locked away his precious recipe books, as well as the Sling recipe hastily jotted on a bar-chit in 1936 by a visitor to the Hotel who asked the waiter for it.

About Shehanne

Shehanne Moore writes gritty, witty, historical romance, set wherever takes her fancy. What hasn’t she worked at while pursuing her dream of becoming a published author? Shehanne still lives in Scotland, with her husband Mr Shey. She has two daughters. When not writing intriguing historical romance, where goals and desires of sassy, unconventional heroines and ruthless men, mean worlds collide, she plays the odd musical instrument and loves what in any other country, would not be defined, as hill-walking.

Only one man in England can identify her. Unfortunately he’s living next door.

Ten years ago sixteen year old Sapphire, the greatest jewel thief England has ever known, ruined Lord Devorlane Hawley’s life. Now she’s dead and buried, all the respectable widow, Cassidy Armstrong, wants is the chance to prove who she really is.

 But not only does her new neighbor believe he knows that exactly, he’s hell-bent on revenge.  All he needs is the actual proof.  So when he asks her to choose between being his mistress, or dangling on the end of a rope, only Sapphire can decide…

 What’s left for a woman with nowhere left to go, but to stay exactly where she is?

 And hope, that when it comes to neighbors, Devorlane Hawley won’t prove to be the one from hell.

#TNTConfidential Author Interview with Anne Lange ( @Anne_Lange ) & Friends with Benefits #threesome #erotic #romance

 Ooooh, I'm super excited to welcome today´s #TNTConfidential guest! She was here over a year ago and a lot of things have happened since then... but I'll allow her to tell it all. Please welcome the lovely Anne Lang and her erotic novel Friends with Benefits !

Can sexual exploration lead to three times the bliss?

Tyler had no idea his wife Angela’s desires so closely matched his own. But when some unguarded pillow talk reveals her fantasy of two men at once, Tyler jumps at the chance to make her happy. Enlisting the help of his best friend Connor, who’d shared some threesome adventures with him in the past, Tyler secretly hopes exploring Angela’s fantasies will lead to his own personal desire—a permanent threesome with the two people he loves most in the world.

Connor can’t believe it when his best friend asks him to seduce his wife. Then he meets Angela, and all the women in his past fade away. With Tyler’s blessing, Connor sets out to melt Angela’s reserve, and when Tyler joins the party, the three of them set the sheets on fire.

Angela is floored when her husband suggests they explore some of her fantasies—things she’d only read about but never in a million years thought she’d actually do. Sandwiched between Tyler and Connor, she’s never felt so treasured, so protected, so loved. But the reality proves much more complicated than the fantasy. She loves her husband, but she finds herself falling for his best friend too. That’s not normal, is it? What will people think?

Welcome to In A Dream Beyond, Anne! Last time you popped in for a visit was March 2013 with your first published novel, Worth the Risk. Wow! Time flies! What have you been up to since then?

Thanks for having me back, Elyzabeth! LOTS! Especially behind the scenes. Let’s see, since I was here last I’ve released the first book in a series (we’ll talk about Friends with Benefits in a minute), I participated in an anthology called The Sin Circus back in April and I recently signed with Totally Bound. My first story with them, Sliding into Home will be available in September.

As an author, what have you learned in this time period?

That I have all kinds of things I want to do, but there’s never enough hours in the day to do it all. So, I have to develop a method that works for me, determine what my realistic goals are, and strive for those. And more importantly, sometimes I need to say no. Especially to my own inner voice who’s constantly begging for me to do more.

As a contemporary romance author, does your day to day life ever affect your writing?

Sometimes something will happen or somebody will say something that will spark an idea. For example, few months ago I had a request from an agent and was wondering how to address it. Then a colleague said something in the office one day that nailed it for me. OR, sometimes I use events or locations in my life as a base starting point. In Friends with Benefits, my backyard makes an appearance or two. J

What’s your writing process like?

I wish I could say it was very structured. That I get an idea, plot out all the crucial elements, storyboard it, have lengthy character profiles and then sit down at my computer and type away from start to finish for ninety days until I have a completed story.

LOL. NOT. I’m so haphazard in my approach because I get distracted easily if I’m struggling with a certain aspect of the story. I get the idea and I mull it over for a bit and come up with a general blurb. Then I usually just start writing until I get stuck. I jump around from start to end to middle and back if that happens. Or I work on something else, all the while pondering my issue in the back of my mind until I figure it out.  So, it’s very messy, but I’m great under pressure. I admit, I’ve tried various methods and I’m still searching for the “right” one. J

Friends with Benefits, your latest release is the first book in The Vault series. What was the inspiration for this series? When will we see more books?

Well, FwB actually began a few years ago, then got set aside while I took some workshops and figured out things like plot development and POV.  It didn’t start out being a series. Far from it. But as I rewrote it (because that early version really sucked) it evolved into what it is today, which included The Vault and what I could do with The Vault.  *shrugs* I’m very happy with it.

As to the other books? Book two is with the editor now. I had really hoped to have it out this year, but I ran into some plot trouble that took a lot of time to figure out and then experienced some conflict with my day job that seriously impacted my writing time. I hope we see something on that front by the end of year.

How about the inspiration for the novel itself?

Honestly, I can’t remember what inspired it years ago when I started writing it. My own fantasies probably. Then it naturally shifted directions as I got know the characters more.

Did you have to do any research while writing it?

I searched for a house that would be appropriate to use as the setting for The Vault, including floor plans that I could modify to what I was after. And I searched out the club scene.  More will come on that in the other books. This one I kept very tame, considering. ;)

Tell us something about Friends With Benefits that we won’t read in the blurb or an excerpt.

Ok Wow. Let’s see. Well, I’ve had a few people consider Tyler (the husband) to be too passive. I wanted him and Connor to be complete opposites. Not that Tyler can’t be a tough guy or go all macho. He does beat the crap out of the guy in the bar. He’s also very private. But, passive doesn’t have to mean weak. It simply means he picks his battles. Tyler is just a really nice guy. He’d give you the shirt off his back. Literally.  He loves his wife to pieces and would do anything to make her happy. Anything. And he has his own reasons for desiring a certain lifestyle.

Finally, at this moment in time, and because this Blog is all about dreams, tell us, what is your dream?

My dream is to one day be able to quit my day job so I can write full time.  I have so many story ideas in my head and I want to see more of my work published each year.  But a very busy day job and family keeps interfering, and unfortunately, many days, those things have to take priority.

Something to read this month?  - Desired by Stacy Kennedy

Something wild to do this month? – Swim in my pool (because I haven’t done it yet this year)

A musical recommendation for this month-  Christina Aguilera & Blake Shelton’s Just A Fool. I recently used this song as the backdrop song for a scene where a woman pole dances for her husband.

Anne Lange grew up with a love for reading. Books are her passion, shoes are an addiction. If you take a close look, she’s got either a book, her Kindle or her Kobo tucked into her bag or a pocket whenever she leaves the house. You know, just in case there’s time to sneak in a chapter or ten.  Anne reads many genres of fiction, but prefers to write sexy, edgy romance with a touch of humor, and always a happily ever after.

While embarking on this wild journey of becoming a romance author, Anne juggles a full time job and a family. Not always successfully. She grew up in Southern Ontario (Canada), but now makes her home in Eastern Ontario where she lives with her wonderfully supportive husband, three normally awesome kids, and Rocky the bearded dragon.

Now, you know you want to read the naughty excerpt...

“I’m going to blindfold you, honey. I want your senses focused on feeling and anticipating what’s about to happen.” He looked into her beautiful baby blues, noticing a tiny bit of anxiety sparkling there. “Don’t worry. We’ll take care of you.”

“I know.” Love for his wife filled his heart. He kissed her, hard, and then covered her eyes with a satin sleeping mask.
Resting back on his ankles, he looked across her lush body. Connor’s cheekbones flushed red. His eyes glittered. His tongue snaked out to pass over his lips, and Tyler watched as Connor gulped before raising his gaze to meet his own.
“It’s like a feast has been laid out before me, and I don’t know where to begin.”

Chloe can “talk” to animals…so why can she hear the thoughts of this hot, green-eyed man?

Abandoned by her mother and raised by a father who’d given up on life, Chloe doesn’t let anyone get close. Lucky for her, she can communicate with animals—telepathically. Animals are the only people she needs. When a suspected dogfighting ring comes to her attention, Chloe decides to do a little spying. In her rush to win the dogs’ trust, she almost gets caught.

Until a sexy stranger intervenes, and she finds she can overhear his thoughts. She’s never been able to hear people, and this man’s about as sexy as she’s ever seen. It’s more than intellectual curiosity that drives her to discover his secret: he’s a jaguar shape-shifter, and the presence of this cat among the dogs might be a bit too much to handle. But the animal attraction is just too hot to resist, and the passion between them makes both the sparks—and the fur—fly…

About Katya:

I like books that are funny and fun to read (and hot!) but also make me think or look at the world in a new way.

These days you’ll find me writing, pet sitting, juggling a number of freelance gigs, and reigning as my home’s domestic goddess. I live in the Midwestern U.S. with my husband, dog and cats. Alas, I have, as of yet, been unable to teach my husband how to purr. I love to hear from readers. Connect with me:

~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~
I return his kiss and clumsily finish unbuttoning his shirt. We break apart long enough for him to strip his shirt and me to lose mine and my bra. I nuzzle his neck, nipping at the tender skin along his collarbone as I rub my hands over the rippling muscles in his back. He groans, pushing us down until we lie side by side on the bed. We kick off our pants and underwear, our naked legs entwined. His erect cock presses near my core and fires the heat between us.
“I can’t wait to be married to you. To have you be mine in that way.” His voice is husky, his breath a hot trail along my cheek between his peppering kisses.
I melt against him, utterly vulnerable yet feeling so safe in his arms. I reach out to him through our connection, sending images of our merging body and soul.
“Come in me.” It’s half demand, half plea.
With a sexy smile, he pushes me to my back, his body over mine, his arms tight along my sides. As he slides into my waiting sex, I arch into him and hook my legs around his waist. Heat rolls off of him and his rumbling purr sends shivering vibrations through me. Well, the purr and his cock. And if I’m being fair, his touch, his essence, his mind, his soul.
He kisses me quickly, and I look at him in question when he pulls back. He smiles, his pace slowing but steady. “Your mind seemed to wander off a bit there. Just ensuring you’re still with me.”
“Always.” It’s a promise I intend to keep.
