A peek inside Surrender Sweet Succubus:
“I came here because I was looking for a succubus…” he began.
“Mm hm. Well, you found one.”
He lost his train of thought as she rolled a tube of lipstick over her lips. The same lips that had been wrapped around his cock last night doing the most wicked things to him.
She finished and started to walk back into the bathroom but her feet stopped short just before the door as if she had hit an invisible barrier. The look on her face was almost comical.
“What the…?” She backed up a step and then tried to move forward again but was halted once more in the same place. She reached in front of her and grabbed the doorway then tried to pull herself through but from the waist down, nothing else moved.
“What the hell is going on?!” She sounded scared now.
He stood. It was working, the binding spell was working! “Okay, I don’t want you to get upset but I put a binding spell on you.” He couldn’t help feeling bad about it. It wasn’t really in his nature to cast such spells but it had been necessary.
“You did what?” Her tone turned to acid and her eyes narrowed.
“A binding spell,” he repeated, “So you can’t go more than three yards away from me. Sorry, were you trying to go to the bathroom?”
He moved closer to give her more slack so she could go in. She stumbled slightly as the perimeter of the bind shifted. She straightened, looking even more upset, and moved away from the bathroom towards the front door.
“How dare you!” she raged. “I am not to be held in bondage by any man. Release me at once!” Her hands scrabbled at the door behind her for the knob.
“I’ll remove it I swear! It’s just, I need your help with something and I didn’t want you to disappear. I wasn’t sure how you would react when I told you I knew what you were.”
“You think I’m going to help you now!?” She looked like she would hit him if she could. Her eyes blazed emerald fire.
“I think, when you listen to what I have to say, you will.”
“And what if I don’t want to listen? You’re going to force me?”
He started to negate it but then stopped. She was right. The look in his sister-in-law’s eyes had haunted him since they’d spoken. He couldn’t let her down. Couldn’t let them both go on with the heartache of being childless. He shook his head, not knowing what to say.
“That’s it, I knew it! You men are all the same. You just take what you want and bend other people to your will.”
He held his hands out to her in pause. “Now look, I don’t even know if you can help me. I just wanted the opportunity to discuss it with you. That’s all. But before we do there’s something else I have to tell you about.” Better to come clean right away. He slowly inched forward towards her.
She yanked the door open. “I don’t care! Whatever it is, I’m not doing it you jerk!” she said, turning to go.
He quickly called out, “I just wanted to be honest and tell you…”
She took one step and then crumpled into a heap on the carpet.
            “…about the sedative.”

#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors: Jace V

Good morning, darlings!

It's been a holiday here and I've been writing, but I'm afraid the witches from The Witches' Mischief series have spoken louder than Jace. However, I do have a few more sentences for you. If you remember, last week Jace had just stepped outside for a moment and discovered that the town he was in was full of vampires. He went back inside and this is what follows.

By the way, thank you to those that gave me laptop advice :-) I'm still searching and will let  you all know what I decide on. *smiles*

*creative editing to keep to the guidelines has most definitely taken place*

The couple gave him an odd look. “What do you mean?”

Vampires. The city is teeming with vampires, don't tell me you--”

Where have you been for the past six months, sonny?”

What?” Jace shook his head. He didn't understand what was happening, but he wasn't about to stay and figure it out. “How do I get out of here?”

You don't.”

#TNTConfidential Author Spotlight on Vallory Vance & One Stormy Night

Welcome lovelies!

Today I have another author treat for you! Please welcome Vallory Vance and her latest release One Stormy Night.

Alexis Joplin, popular host of the travel show, Overnight Stays, is embarking on her final scouting expedition with her partner and best friend, Shane Fowler. Over the course of the last two years, the duo has grown closer not only at work, but outside of the job. While their friends and co-workers may whisper that something more than friendship is the source of their mutual admiration, they deny it even as their personal feelings are reaching a critical apex.

Shrouded in the dark beauty of a hundred year old inn, while lightning flashes and thunder rumbles, neither Alexis nor Shane can hold on to the pretense any longer. They give in to one night of passion with the promise that in the morning, they’ll awake as friends.

But is it a promise they both can keep?

From Romantic Sub-Genre to Romantic Sub-Genre, I’m a Fan

I read across a variety of romance genres from erotic historical, to contemporary to paranormal to absolute fantasy. And I love them all because my favorite romantic tropes can be refreshed with the right hero and heroine and an enthusiastic author.

The first trope that pops into my mind is the marriage of convenience. The heroine has to marry a wealthy baron in order to save her family’s land and station in society. You can also bring this forward and our heroine assumes a secret identity to marry the CEO of a large corporation in order to prevent him from foreclosing on the land which has been in her family for a century. Elongate that time to a war-torn millennium between two rival species of shape-shifters and only our heroine’s marriage will bring peace and you’ve got a paranormal romance. Change the landscape to somewhere other than Earth and there’s that fantasy novel.

But there is also is also the – second chance at love. These always get me no matter the setting or the time period. These stories of reunion and renewal wiping out the pains of the past are some of my favorites.

Then there are the friends-to-lovers stories. I have to admit that I’m a sucker for these as well. Maybe the heroine or hero has harbored a secret crush for years while the object of their affection dated or even got married! Or maybe they’ve both been in love and too shy to say anything for years, content with a sideways glance every now and again. Then BAM! Love and fireworks!

While there is a certain amount of regret for the time lost between the second chance couple, I don’t feel that way with the friends-to-lovers. While they might not have been in bed together, they’ve been loving each all along.

And in the hope of capturing the spirit of being secretly in love, I wrote One Stormy Night - Two very good friends, one centuries-old inn and a storm brewing…

#WednesdayBriefs: The Lion's Den 3

Greetings!

True to my promise, I'm keeping the Briefs to three chapters maximum, so this is the last bit of The Lion's Den. I suggest you have a fan nearby. *wink*  I hope you enjoy it!

The Lion's Den 3

Her shirt landed over someone's desk. His tie fluttered to the floor. She ran her fingers down his chiseled torso as he fought his way out of his shirt. He grasped her wrists, holding her palms over his pecs as he leaned down to kiss her again. She moaned against him. He ran his fingertips over her arms, leaving behind a trail of goosebumps.

"Mikka," she urged him on as he stopped to contemplate her.

“Beautiful."

He reached for her again, dipping his fingers beneath her bra, tugging at her sensitive nipples and sending ripples of pleasure to land hard between her thighs. Abruptly, he removed his hands. She was about to protest when he slid the straps of her bra down her arms, then fumbled with the clasp. The material fell to the floor.

"Fuck."

Mikka cursed under his breath. Nervous, Angela gazed at him, but his eyes were pinned on her breasts.

"Beautiful," he said, while rubbing them with the flat of his palms. Lowering his head, he kissed her wrinkled nub before curling his tongue around it and sucking, hard. Angela moaned. Her head fell back as her chest thrust forward, silently begging for more.

"Mikka."

He stepped back and grinned deviously.

"Ms. Windsor, come into my office, immediately."

Placing his hand on her lower back, he ushered her inside the lion's den.

"Welcome to my den."

Her mouth fell open and she stopped walking to glance up at him. Mikka took a step forward, forcing her to retreat.

"I listen to my employees, Angela."

"But--"

He took another step.

"Even if it doesn't look like it. I watch." Another step. "I listen." Another step. "I yearn." She bumped against his desk. "I dream."

"Dream?"

He towered over her, the desire in his eyes so open it overwhelmed her.

"Dream. Hope." One of his fingers caressed her face. "Imagine."

“Are you sure? I'm not--Do you know what you’re doing?” she murmured to herself.

“I always know what I’m doing,” Mikka replied, hooking his fingers on her trousers and pulling her to him. She looked up at him. He smiled and all her worries dissipated.

"My dreams were more than a passionate rendezvous on my desk, Ms. Windsor."

Sensuously, he undid the buttons of her pants and tugged them down with her underwear.

"I intend to have all my dreams fulfilled," he said, while placing his hand over her dark mesh of hair. Slick wetness slid down her thighs as he teased her thighs open.

"And I have a lot of dreams."

Abruptly, he turned her around, positioning her so she was facing the desk, her rear to him. He leaned into her, his cock still covered by his clothes hard against her behind.

“I’ve dreamed of having you for so long, I hardly know where to begin,” Mikka murmured against her ear.

“Anywhere. Everywhere,” she replied breathlessly, grinding her bottom against him.

“You smell so good,” he growled, while squeezing her ass. Angela moaned.

“Just—“

He turned her around again and kissed her hard.. With an ease she didn't expect, he lifted her onto his desk.

“Stay,” he demanded, hoarsely.

She looked curiously at him as he took a step back and removed his pants. She spread her legs at the sight, inviting him to fill her. His cock curved upwards, the crown pink and weeping. Quickly, he fished a condom from his wallet, ripped it open and rolled it down his length.

“After,” he said softly as the head of his cock teased her entrance. “I’m going to eat that pretty pussy of yours. I’m going to—“ He paused as his mushroom head slipped into her moist entrance. “I’m going to fuck you all over this office.” Her fingernails dug into his arm as he slowly pushed inside of her.
“Then, I’m going to take you home.”

“Home?” she managed to ask, moving her hips and trying to get him to move faster. He gave her one of his devastating smiles accompanied by a peck on the lips.

“Home, to make love to you on my bed.”

“Make—“

“Later.” He slammed into her and she arched her back. He kissed her mouth, her neck and began a deliberately slow possession of her body. She rubbed against him, desperate for more.

“Mikka, please.” She caressed his jaw and ran her fingers across his cheek before cupping his head and bringing him down to kiss her. His dark gaze softened and he kissed her back.

He didn't say a word as he began to slam into her in hard incessant strokes that took her to heaven and beyond. Finding the tender spot on her neck, he bit down, triggering her orgasm. Angela screamed and Mikka followed her release with his own.

She didn’t know how long they stayed like that, wrapped in each other’s arms. After a while, Mikka’s cock slipped out and she shivered. He hugged her tighter, and kissed her cheek, her nose, her mouth. With each swipe of his tongue a new notch of arousal climbed up her body.

“I want you again,” he murmured.

“I do too,” she replied, wrapping her hands around his engorged member.  “And I want to taste you.”

Angela frowned as Mikka shook his head.

"Only after I taste you, dear. In the lion's den, the lion rules."

#TNTConfidential Author Interview with Raven McAllan & Secrets Shared

If you're here for the Spring Fling Blog Hop, please Click Here.

Happy Tuesday my darlings! Today I have the pleasure of sitting on the spotlight and interviewing the lovely Raven McAllan and her fascinating new novel, Secrets Shared. Please give her a very warm welcome!

Pre-order from www.totallybound.com
Welcome to In A Dream Beyond, Raven! It’s always a great pleasure to have you here! You’re starting a new series with Secrets Shared. Where did the inspiration come from?
Firstly can I say how much I enjoy visiting with you. You make me think, which is a good thing, and let me share some secrets. This time about Secrets 'snigger'. So where did the idea come from? Well I was driving past the entrance to an old ruined castle near me, and remember thinking it would be a great setting for a book. And for once it wasn't a Regency that sprang to mind. I'd just written a series about a BDSM club in Glasgow (The Dance Studio series), and I thought how an exclusive club in the castle (rebuilt) might work. Once I started writing I realized it was more than just BDSM or romance. There was a mystery or two involved, and more than one story to tell. After all the castle is called Diomhair, which is as best I can write it phonetically is pronounced 'Jeever', and is Gaelic for secret.
Luckily Totally Bound wanted a series, and now I'm over half way through writing book three of six.

Raven in front of the 'real' Diomhair
You’ve written several series in your writing career such as, The House on Silk Street; Ladies of London; or Dance Studio:  What attracts you about writing series?
I think it's because I'm nosy. I write a secondary character, and want to know more about them. Or the setting intrigues me, which as I choose the setting—well as much as my characters let me—I suppose is natural. I rarely think I'm going to write a series, (except with Diomhair which I knew it would be) , but the characters have different ideas.

Tell us something about Secrets Shared that we won’t find in the blurb.
I use places I know for the settings, just maybe not exactly where they are in real life! Although the castle for Diomhair is roughly where it exists the countryside has been altered.

What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of writing?
Telling the story, in your own words. Write as you can, not as you think you should. It's your voice, no one else's. And getting the words down. Because if you don't write them you can't tell your story. Even if it's 'word vomit'. You can edit later as long as they are written.

What is the hardest part of writing for you? Resisting chocolate.

What advice would you give a new writer just starting out? Really what I said about the important elements of writing. Your voice, your words, and write it.

**April Showers bring…**

What do April Showers bring? (be as creative as you like ;-) ) Jumping in puddles, time to write and not want to be in the garden, an excuse for the fire to be lit.
Walking in the rain through the forest, with my friend and her dogs. A nice hot shower…
Dh moaning because he can't get into the garden… the cat refusing to go into the garden…
Wondering if summer will ever come… Although why I do that I have no idea. Summer in Scotland is usually two days in May.

A book to read this month— Well, I'm reading the first book of M.M. Kaye's autobiography, The Sun in The Morning, about growing up in pre war India. I loved her thrillers ( the Death in… series) and her historical novels.

Raincoat or umbrella?
Raincoat because holding an umbrella up hurts my fibro.

Do you like your handwriting?  I don't not now. Fibromyalgia in my case means it hurts to write for long, and even I have trouble reading it.

What are you listening to right now?
Would you believe the London Marathon? It's on TV and I'm listening to the commentary with one ear.

Have you ever played an April Fool’s joke on anyone? What was it?
Probably when I was a child, but I really can't remember. (It was a few years ago lol)
