Shoes, #Shoes and Shehanne Moore @ShehanneMoore The Viking and the Courtesan #newrelease

I like shoes, you like shoes, Shehanne Moore and her characters LOVE shoes! Come on over and discover Shehanne´s latest release, The Viking and the Courtesan and some beautiful shoes *wink*

Head over heels…….  Of shoes and shoes and shoes.

“she would have shoes. Silver shoes with pearl encrusted buckles, delicate kidskin slippers with beribboned points, blue shoes, cream shoes, high throated pumps with clasps and buckles. While Malice Mallender hated to think she had grown a shade cynical about such things, shoes were a concept she knew many women would love and understand.”

Well ladies, come away now. How  many of us would not love and understand that concept? When we feel a bit low, when we have been dissed by some man? After thanking my amazing friend,  writer of many great books, oh, and doodler,  the lovely Elyzabeth M. Valey, for asking me here today,  I’m asking how many of us can pass that special pair in the shop window and just let them go…….
My latest heroine can’t. She actually spends all the money she earns wrecking marriages on them…after being  dissed by her hubby, of course. You might say she’s head over heels about them.
In one shape or form shoes have been around for a very long time. This is good news for Malice, as she ends up with the Vikings. What kind of footwear would she have worn there? Oh okay…

               This is the hero.

She has a hard choice to make here. Wouldn’t you?
Shoes may simply been for protecting our feet but they obviously evolved into more than that or we’d still be going about with sacks on them.
Hands up, I confess to being deeply into shoes. I think I have about forty pairs. Just forty? Well, that isn’t counting the boots……
I like to talk about shoes in my books.  To me they shape my heroines. For example Sapphire from Loving Lady Lazuli wears sturdy boots.

Not only is she ready to bolt at a moment’s notice, she want s to be off putting to the hero.
Lady Fury, from The Unraveling of Lady Fury  feels defined by shoes in a different way from Malice. The hero clearly remembers offering to make her walk the plant in what he regards as her fancy shoes. She is fancy. But they are not her shoes actually. They are stolen.

Then there’s Kara of His Judas Bride. The hero spends a lot of time fantasizing about her shoes. He thinks they look like this

But she’s another one getting ready to bolt so her shoes are actually like this,

I’ve got shoes in my present work in progress too. They are men’s shoes. ‘Nuff said.
I think the answer to what bit of me is in my heroines, is simple. SHOES.  Now how important are they to you?

Extract The Viking and the Courtesan.

“Jewels?  What do you think I am? Do you have any idea what I want—”
Pressing his fingers harder against her mouth, he tipped her back on the mattress.  Just when Snotra would be listening this hissing, spitting troll was going to ruin this.
“I don’t care what you want,” he gritted. “Shoes are what you can have. And jewels and whatever…”
Actually tipping her back onto the mattress so her flailing body was underneath him, wasn’t the smartest, although if Snotra had crept up the ladder and was staring through the drape, this tussle with the troll would certainly look convincing. On the surface anyway. He didn’t know how much muster it would pass if Snotra looked closer. He could and would make this Saxon she-wolf obey him now.
“Do you understand?”He seized her wrists, dragging them above her head so she couldn’t move.  “You’re in no position to bargain here. If you can’t moan, I’ll get someone who can.”
She stuck her chin in the air.  “So you say.”
“And they can have the damned dress, the troll toothed shoes too.”
            “Viking shoes. Oh fortunate them.”
            “Start doing it now.”
“So Snotra can tear my eyes out?” Her face was set in the blandest lines. “You know? I think not.”
                “Well I do.”

In 898 AD she wasn’t just from another land.
Wrecking a marriage is generally no problem for the divorce obtaining, Lady Malice Mallender. But she faces a dilemma when she’s asked to ruin her own. Just how businesslike should she remain when the marriage was never consummated and kissing her husband leads to Sin--a handsome Viking who wants her for a bed slave in name only?
She came from another time.
Viking raider Sin Gudrunsson wants one thing. To marry his childhood sweetheart. Only she’s left him before, so he needs to keep her on her toes, and a bed slave, in name only, seems just the thing. Until he meets Malice.
One kiss is all it takes to flash between two worlds
But when one kiss is no longer enough, which will it be?  Regency London? Or Viking Norway? Will Malice learn what governs the flashes? Can Sin?
Where worlds collide can love melt the iciest heart?

BIO  Shehanne Moore.
When not cuddling inn signs in her beloved Scottish mountains alongside Mr Shey, or spending time with her family, Shehanne Moore writes dark and smexy historical romance, featuring bad boys who need a bad girl to sort them out. She firmly believes everyone deserves a little love, forgiveness and a second chance in life.

Shehanne caused general apoplexy when she penned her very first story, The Hore House Mystery—aged seven. What hasn’t she worked at while pursuing her dream of becoming a published author?

She also loves playing various musical instruments, decorating and hearing from readers, not necessarily in that order and is thrilled to be with Soul Mate Publishing.

#8Sunday #SexySnippets #WeekendWritingWarriors: Luna #paranormal #romance #Weak #HIS

 Happy Sunday, guys!

August is almost here and I can hardly wait!! My holidays are barely  a week away and I'm excited! I can't wait to get some rest and possibly some writing too. *fingers crossed* As a heads up, I'll probably be late in visiting other authors blogs today, but I will be there.
Anyway, on to the snippet!
Let's recap: Clare (aka Luna), has met a mysterious, yet hunky, alien who's come to take her back to his home. She believes he's Mikelo, the alien boy she'd met twenty years ago... but he's presented himself as Serrik. In shock, Clare doesn't know how to react. Serrik taunts her and asks her why she is not screaming. In the previous snippet he tells her that her destiny is tied with his people. Clare denies it and  he threatens her. Serrik will do whatever it takes to get Clare back to his world and to Mikelo.
Serrik has let Clare know that if she doesn't adapt to his alien world she'll die (be killed). Clare runs and Serrik follows at a slow pace until he gets tired, hides behind a tree and re-captures her.  Finally, he drags her back to his own world, where we meet Mikelo, who is in turn, watching Clare sleep and thinking...

Finally, you can read the older snippets here:

Clares cheeks were marred by black paint, her dress was torn and her hair disheveled, yet, the flush on her rosy cheeks and the pout in her pink lips were delectable. Her eyelids fluttered and she moaned like a wounded animal. Mikelo hurried to her side. Her dreams were clearly not pleasant. A thought occurred to him. He rubbed his hands together and held them over her head. He could crush her with his hands as hed done to other enemies. He smiled. His Clare Luna was not an enemy, she was human and weak, yes, but she was his human.
