TO STEAL A HIGHLANDER'S HEART
By
Samantha Holt

BLURB:

Alana sets eyes on Morgann for the first time in several years and what does he do? He captures her! But Alana refuses to go meekly with the sexy Highland warrior. Her kidnapping will reignite the rift that’s existed between the two clans since her father accused Morgann of theft and she doesn’t want to see her father harmed in the inevitable war that will ensue.

Unfortunately for Alana, the faeries seek to interfere with her plans to escape. The sidhe have a debt to repay and Tèile, the green faery, is determined to mend the rift between the clans for good. And that means ensuring Alana and Morgann marry.

Morgann has his own reasons for taking Alana and they are nothing to do with marriage or war. He wants to use her to reveal a secret from the past, the one that had him accused of theft. If only he didn’t find his childhood friend so attractive. When circumstances force them together, Alana’s life is threatened and war is imminent. Can Morgann reveal the truth without losing Alana? And will the faeries meddling help or hinder his cause?

EXCERPT:

Endless moments stretched on as she waited for Morgann to look away, to break the connection, but he stared brazenly on as his gaze trailed over her face. What did he see? As she gaped up at him, the irate warrior dissolved into a flesh and blood man and she recalled how much she used to adore him. When Morgann was banished from her father’s lands, she’d been heartbroken at losing her friend, but with the blazing sensation of having him flattened against her, she remembered that it wasn’t just the loss of his friendship that hurt her so. She’d always silently hoped Morgann would play a bigger role in her future.

But that didn’t change the fact that he was taking her against her will and she would not go meekly, regardless of what she once felt. If only she could ignore the sensuous pull of his lips or the darkening of his pupils as a rough finger drew a path over her cheek.

A crack ripped across the sky and they both jolted. Pushing to standing, Morgann helped her up and grimaced as he eyed her. Aware of the mud coating her, she swiped a hand across her face as her cheeks heated. Titling her head up, she hoped the rain would at least be useful for something and would not only rinse away some of the dirt but also cool her down. The way the man made her skin blister was extremely disconcerting.

Morgann muttered a curse, drawing her attention back to him as he raked a hand through his hair and yanked some rope from the leather pouch hanging from his saddle. As he turned back to her, rope held out, Alana shrank away. “Ye cannae mean to tie me up, surely?”

Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday and #SexySnippets: The New Project (3)

Happy Sunday!

I'm continuing the 8 right were we left off last week. *smile*  (First they talked about shifters and permanent shifting and then someone mentioned a kiss ...)
*There is some creative punctuation*

#SexySnippets and #8Sunday Sentences

Dolph’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second before closing in surrender to the soft touch of Bill’s lips. The gentle pressure increased and he leaned in closer, searching for more, just as Bill pulled back. Confused, Dolph's eyes snapped open just as the other man moved in again, nipping and teasing his lips with increased urgency, as the sparks of passion ignited by the simple touch of their lips grew in proportion. Abruptly, Bill pulled back again.  Dolph groaned, frustrated.

Grinning, the older man cupped his cheek, caressing it with the pad of his thumb. “Humans like to think that a dog's kiss is a lick,” he whispered, bending over him to sensually lick his bows and making Dolph gasp. “But though it’s a cute show of affection, a human kiss is much more powerful.”

TnT Confidential: Sandra Bunino & Tie Me Free

Welcome, welcome, to the last TnT Confidential of this fine month of September. Today I have with me Sandra Bunino and her latest addition to her BDSM series The Satin Rose Experience, Tie Me Free.

 She’s forty and vanilla…he’s twenty-eight and…not.

Score one for Kate Angel. She’s just signed the hottest erotica author to her start up publishing house, Angel Books, but she needs a crash course in kink to appease her demanding client. Creating a Domsublife.com profile seems like an innocent way to do her homework and satisfy her curiosity.

Mason Myers has lived a lifetime in his twenty-eight years. The product of an Irish orphanage, he grew up fast to overcome his lonely, humble beginnings to become the successful businessman he is today. He's also an experienced Dom at the Satin Rose Experience, an elite BDSM club in New York City.
A mutual appreciation for modern art establishes their online connection. Mason convinces Kate to meet him at the Guggenheim museum’s erotica exhibit where she reveals her fascination in the art of rope bondage, known as Shibari. Introducing her to the ancient art within the safety of the club, Mason helps Kate surrender her deep-seated hang-ups about her age and body image.

As the physical and emotional ties that bind her into the submissive of his fantasies tighten, can Kate learn to break the emotional tethers ruling her life and embrace the freedoms they bestow?

Tie Me Free can be found here:

Tie Me Free is the fourth book of my Satin Rose Experience series. However, no worries if readers haven't read the other three books, because as with the other books in the series, it can be enjoyed as a stand alone story. That said, readers of the series will be reunited with old friends! Of course Asher and Mia make an appearance as the heads of SRE, New York's exclusive BDSM club. Jackson Reid is also back as he demonstrates his knowledge of sensual rope tying.

Tie Me Free was an absolute joy to write because it touches on so many aspects of art. You see, I'm a modern art buff and like my heroine, Kate Angel, I love to get lost in a museum for an afternoon. In Tie Me Free, Kate is introduced to another type of art called Shibari, an ancient Japanese form of rope art. Instead of paint on canvas, beauty is created with rope on skin. Kate harbors body issues. Her insecurities multiply because the person dying to tie her up is a much younger Dom with an oh-so-sexy Irish accent!

Anyway, I better stop here so I don't give too much away. If you like hot Irish Doms, a little bit o' kink and a whole lotta sexy, please consider downloading Tie Me Free.

Happy red-hot reading! xoxo

 Now, how about an excerpt?

Kate stared at the platform as the click of the door sounded over the mesmerizing music. Looking over her shoulder, she found Mason watching her from his spot next to the door. She turned to the only other piece of furniture, a large armoire with a double door. “May I?” She glanced back to Mason.

He extended his hand toward the cabinet. “Of course. Please.”

Kate’s heels clicked on the wood floor as she approached the cabinet and swung open the door. Assorted colors of rope lengths lined the shelves. Kate fingered the cords and pulled out a loop of red silk rope. “I didn’t realize the ropes were so soft.”

Mason pushed off from the wall and walked to her. “The ropes are an extension of the person performing the tying. An extension of their arms and fingers. They’re meant to caress and comfort. The ropes are symbolic of the connection between the individuals involved in the scene as you saw outside.” Mason stood just a whisper from her face. His thumb brushed her fingers holding the silk cord as their gazes locked. “How about a little roleplay, Kate?”

            She cocked her head. “Roleplay?”

“Do you want to know how it feels to be dominated? To be tied?”

Kate held her breath and her heartbeat hammered in her chest.

“Kneel on the platform and put your hands behind your back.”

            “What?”

“Your safe word is moon. Use it now or anytime during the session.”

“Session? We never talked about a session tonight.” Kate pulled her hand away but Mason held it firm in his grasp. “I’m not playing games with you, Mason.” She wriggled her wrist free and walked toward the painting.

Soft footfalls approached and his breath tickled at the back of her head. “You’re looking for something more in your life, Kate. It’s why you took on Blaze as a client, it’s why you joined Domsublife, it’s why you met me at the Guggenheim and it’s why you’re here in this suite. I’d kept tabs on your reaction and body cues as you watched the demonstration. You’re craving to be bound, I can taste it. And I assure you, this is no game. If you don’t like it or it makes you feel uncomfortable to the point you want to stop, say the safe word and I’ll stop and untie you. No questions asked.”

He was right. Somehow he’d always been right on the mark when it came to her and what she was feeling. The music ceased for a moment between songs. Kate spun around to meet his stare, heartbeat pounding in her chest as her breathing became shallow but she refused to break their stare.

Kate considered his words and studied his face. “Are the cameras on? Are they watching?”

Mason nodded. “Yes. Surveillance is on. I gave Mia and Asher the heads up that you might want to experiment. They have your safe word.”

Kate turned back to face the painting and leaned into his chest. “You scare me,” she whispered.

His fingertips trailed a path up and down her arms. “Why?”

“Because you seem to know what I’m thinking before I do.” Because you’re so right for me but so wrong. Because you’re like a gooey, delicious ice cream sundae I’ll never allow myself to taste.

Mason chuckled. “Is that a bad thing?” His voice poured through her body. Closing her eyes, she pulled away from him. Her glance moved from the door to the platform. She’d never have another chance like this to experience it. Kate squared her shoulders. “Okay. But I’m not getting naked,” she said, holding an index finger up. She moved to the platform and kneeled. Even though the surface was hard, a calmness came over her as she moved to the middle of the table and gazed over the painting in front of her.

“I’m fine with that limit, for now, except for your feet.” Mason slipped off her shoes and rubbed tight circles his thumbs into the arch of her foot.

Kate let out a throaty moan. “How do you know how to do that?”

“Reflexology. It’s part of the study of shibari. I also learned where the body’s pressure points are.” His thumbs traveled to the balls of her feet and let up on the pressure. “How’s that feel?”

Kate groaned. “Heavenly.” Her muscles loosened instantly.

“Good. Now just relax, spread your knees apart and sit on your heels. This will be the most comfortable position for you as we do this.”

Kate complied as his fingers traveled up her back to her shoulders. “You have knots in your shoulders. Under stress?”

            “That’s an understatement,” she snorted.

“Close your eyes and get lost in the music. Don’t think of anything outside of this room. It’s just you and me.”

Kate smiled. “There is no you and me, Mason.”

Mason shushed her and applied pressure to the knot in her shoulder, making her wince. “That hurt like a bitch and felt amazing at the same time. How the hell do you do that?”

“Shh. Don’t make me gag you, Angel.”

The words rolled off his tongue as Kate’s mind flashed to the model in the first picture they’d seen at the bondage exhibit. Warmth spread through her body at the thought. Her breath hitched as she imagined the assortment of gags and blindfolds in the drawers of the cabinet. The warmth of Mason’s body radiated through her shirt, his face against the back of her head. “The thought of being gagged turns you on, doesn’t it?”

“Shit,” she whispered. Did it turn her on? What. The. Hell?

#WednesdayBriefs: Light of Time 9

Hello lovelies and happy hump day! I can't believe September is drawing to an end and Autumn is here. Anyhow, before I get all philosophical, on to today's flash. I used the "something stolen" prompt and I am continuing the Light of Time story where we left of last week.

If you haven't read any of the story, you can catch up by clicking HERE and scrolling down to the bottom to the links titled 'Light of Time'.

Light of Time 9

“Will you please take me home, General? I need to go home and think things through.”

Hodgins frowned. “I’m not sure it’s a good idea for you to go home. If your grandfather was murdered, then-“

“I could be next. Yes, I’m fully aware of that or I wouldn’t have come seeking answers from a man shunned by society, now would I?” Bethany snapped.

Hodgins had the decency to look chagrined.

“Look,” Bethany clasped his arm, squeezing reassuringly. “I’m sorry.” She gazed up at him, smiling warmly. “I have trouble thinking in unfamiliar places and you unsettle me. I just want to go home, have a bath, change my clothes and have something to eat. Then we can resume our conversation. Please?”

“Bethany—“

“You can stay there with me if you want. I don’t care, but—“

Hodgins frown deepened, his pale eyebrows almost knitting together as he stared down at her. “Don’t you think that going home would put your staff in danger? Besides, what would they say if they saw you with me?”

Bethany moved closer to the General, tentatively resting her hand on his chest, patting it reassuringly. “They’ll think I have gone crazy with grief after my granddad’s death. What you fail to understand, General Hodgins, is that my nana already knows I was meeting with you and that I couldn’t care less what people think. My upbringing, as I have already explained to you, was distinctly nontraditional." Swiftly she took a few steps back, levelly staring at Hodgins. "Now, please take me home or I will shoot you.”

Bethany pointed the stolen pistol at Hodgin’s chest, carefully keeping her countenance as serious as possible, even if the absurdity of the situation and the expression of surprise on his face made her want to giggle. How did things get out of hand so quickly? All she wanted was some answers, a lead into her grandfather's murder and now she was pointing a pistol at a man.
Hodgins recovered quickly from his astonishment, his lips settling into a twisted smile as he regarded her with what she could only interpret as new-found admiration.

“Have you ever shot a man, Bethany?”

Her only reply was to slide the gun's lock.

Hodgins cocked his head, his smile still in place. “I have no doubt that you know how to use it, but have you ever shot anyone? Maimed anyone? Ripped their flesh apart limb by limb even as tears blurred your vision and the smell of blood filled your nostrils?“

Bethany swallowed, nerves fluttering in her belly. What was Hodgins talking about?

 “Just let me go home.”

“I'm not sure I can do that. “

“Why?”

“Because you have the answers I need and everything be damned if I’ll let someone else take them from you before I do.”

“What?” Her question hung in the air like a cigar's thick foul smelling smoke. Answers? She had questions not answers. Hodgins didn't give her time to react as he launched himself at her. Bethany pulled the trigger, the bullet missing him by several inches. She cried out as Hodgin's caught her wrist in a tight grip, forcing her to drop the weapon.

"I have no answers you crazy barbarian. You're the one with the answers." She struggled against him, kicking wildly. Hodgins said nothing, simply tightening his hold on her and maneuvering her against the far wall, effectively holding her hands above her head and caging her in with his body.

“Let go of me, you bloody bastard. I don’t have any answers or I wouldn’t be here in the first place.”

Bethany spat on his face, watching as her saliva slid down his cheek like a slithering worm. Hodgins did not react. His eyes were cold, detached, even as his body released a welcoming heat. Bethany screamed in frustration, arching her body in a last attempt to free herself from the solid wall of flesh holding her down.
He didn't even seem to be there with her. His gaze was empty, his thoughts clearly elsewhere as he waited for her to calm down. Tears gathered in her eyes as  she came to terms with the futility of the situation. Not for the first time, she wondered what she'd gotten herself into.

As if sensing her defeat, Hodgins losened his hold on her. His gaze softened as he leaned toward her, effectively cocooning them as if in a personal bubble.

“I have reconsidered. We will go to your home.”

To be continued...

TnT Confidential: Nancy Goldberg Levine

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I have the pleasure of introducing sweet romance author, Nancy Goldberg Levine. She's stopped by with some of her books and even agreed to answer some of my questions (oh, the innocence!) Let's give her a warm welcome!

Welcome to TnT Confidential, Nancy! As a first time visitor, I have to ask the question: When and Why did you start writing?

I’ve been writing since I was seven, and then I wrote mostly about princesses and heroines who met celebrities. I read a lot of books and thought of stories in my head that I wanted to write down.

What’s your favorite part of the writing process?

Creating the characters and putting them in a “what if” situation.

Where does your inspiration stem from?

Real life—I’ve been in some funny situations, and met a lot of interesting people who make interesting characters (they’re only loosely based on these people, though, or sometimes a combination of different people).

What’s your writing process like?

I guess I’m a panster—I see the characters first and start writing the story to see what happens to them from there. I also like to pick out their houses—sometimes I find them while I’m being driven around, or I look in magazines.

As a self published author, what has been the hardest thing for you? Any advice for new Indie authors?

The hardest  part has been trying to get my name out there – I sold my first romance (print, small press) in 1999, and didn’t sell another book until 2012, when  I got advice from another author to become indie published. My advice to new indie authors is not to take advice from me because I still have no idea what I’m doing—LOL.

You currently write sweet erotic contemporary romance, have you considered exploring other genres? If yes, which ones?

I write sweet contemp. romantic comedy—no erotica yet, but I’d like to try that since it’s out of my comfort zone. I wrote a few historicals that never saw the light of print and I think I’d like to try that again—mine took place in the 1880s-1890s (Book 1 had some pretty steamy love scenes, if I remember). (Lost the files in a fire in 2005).

Tell us in a few words why we’re going to love your books. They’re funny and they feature heroes and heroines who aren’t typical.

September interrogation…

- A book recommendation for September “Weighting for Mr. Right” by Patricia Fischer

- A kiss under the rain or in the sun? in the sun

- It’s a chilly Friday night, you are…Having a glass of w(h)ine, a good dinner, and then in the spring/summer listening to the ballgame

- The song that pops into your head at random times “Downtown” or “Master of the House”

- A word you can’t live without  “tasteless”

- A personal Anecdote

When I sold my first book, “Tempting Jonah,” I couldn’t wait to tell my co-workers and boss. The night I found out. My husband (now deceased—sigh) and I went to the grocery to buy a bottle of Asti Spumonte and some sweets (brownies, ice cream, etc.). The next day, I rushed into work to tell everyone, but some people were off, and the rest came in late. It drove me crazy to have to wait to deliver that news!

Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday and #SexySnippets: The New Project (2)

Happy Sunday!

Today I will spare you my psycho babble and go straight ahead with the sentences. These 8 belong to my current WIP and they more or less continue where I dropped off 2 weeks ago.  (They were talking about shifters and permanent shifting.)

#SexySnippets and #8Sunday Sentences

“It’s not the first case. Being an animal is easier than being human, or both.” Bill grinned at him while random striking a cheerful tune on the keyboard. “Being both is hard but it is much more fun. There are certain things animals cannot do.”

“What things?” Dolph asked.

Bill’s grinned widened and a mischievous light shone in his eyes. “Kissing, for instance.”
